Monster High Ranked |
13 | | Julianna Barwick The Magic Place
Brand Boo Batsy Claro - - - - - Haphazardly shoehorned Madonna skirts aside, Batsy Claro brings surreal pearl wings, woven boots and a delightfully hippie face markings and headpiece to create a very uncharacteristically heavenly character amongst the hellish undergrads, all while exalting a refreshing breath of abstraction to the aesthetic. - - - - - https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/37/d1/01/37d101017ef2fc49ff05d38b7aecc5d6.jpg |
12 | | Black Moth Super Rainbow Dandelion Gum
Boo York Luna Mothews - - - - - Gothic Titania with city glamour subjected to all the right (read: not-so-flaboyant) places and butterfly wing/rear drapery skirt yields some excellent figure. Uniquely black-widowy color pallet also blends well with her skin tone and the perpetually under-utilized tights are put to good use here. - - - - - http://scene7.targetimg1.com/is/image/Target/17287287?wid=480&hei=480 |
11 | | Mastodon Leviathan
Haunted Vandala Doubloons - - - - - Commanding Davy Jones (dare I say Thresh-ian) stature dancing gracefully with enigmatic allure and etherealness. Truly a powerful anomoly in the line. Tentacle octopus chain frontpiece, large blue hat insignia and marine life-coated anchor "bag" aren't even the main attraction - Vandala is rocking a decorated high boot peg leg. - - - - - http://www.hamleys.com/images/_lib/monster-high-haunted-vandala-doubloons-doll-84645-0-1422274187000.jpg |
10 | | Janelle Monae The Electric Lady
Boo York Elle Eedee - - - - - Sadly one of the only looks we've seen of this interesting character design, Eedee's Boo York attire presents the more sleek and intergalactic half of the androidic Robecca Steam duo. Her charmingly airy-headed poise is brought to fruition by a smart use of steely cools and geometric patterns. - - - - - http://mat.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMAT1-21486524enh-z6.jpg |
9 | | Slime Girls Vacation Wasteland
Brand Boo Kjersti Trollson - - - - - The very tweeny hot color pallet doesn't hold this outfit back from nailing the punky, chip-tuny modern youthfulness it's going for. Like the other outfits in the Brand Boo series, a very forward-thinking look, but also keeps a traditional hold on passtime enthusiasm. And dat hat. - - - - - http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhigh/images/1/1f/Doll_stockphotography_-_Brand-Boo_Students_Kjersti_I.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151003085833 |
8 | | Girls' Generation The Boys
2013 Swim Draculaura - - - - - Draculaura has perhaps the most consistently solid wardrobe out of every girl, but her 2013 Swim edition stands out as perhaps her boldest, most innocent Lolita-esque look. A characteristic black and white-striped one piece swimsuit and a sunny frilled pink scarf are all that she spoke beyond her bouncy pigtails and cute pink sandals, making daint of her rosy pallet while looking blood-suckingly scandelous all at once. - - - - - http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/i/spin/image/spin_prod_788292012 |
7 | | Aqua Aquarium
Dawn of the Dance Lagoona - - - - - The prom seahorse is one of the woefully uncommon examples of Lagoona getting really down with her merchick panache. Prominent hair towering over her slender marine ensemble really pulls all the fantastic flowiness of her outfit together. - - - - - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91Tr7vrh1DL._SL1500_.jpg |
6 | | Tomonari Nozaki Une Histoire de Bleu
Freaky Fusion Sirena Von Boo - - - - - The best mermaid look isn't even in the proper Great Scarrier Reef series. Fantastic clothing patterns, beautiful bottom-of-the-sea color scheme, and resounding choice of hair and accessories, all while waxing mystique with her majestic as fuck fish fin brows. Damn. - - - - - https://dollsvilleusa.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/sirenafull.jpg |
5 | | The Birthday Massacre Violet
5 - Frights, Camera, Action Elissabat - - - - - Hollywood Elissabat doesn't do anything experimental or left-field - and that's exactly why she's a great doll. Conventional gothic lolita corset, skirt and buckled boots are the order of the day, and it all works because it's absolutely no-bullshit. No awkward color combos or accessory choices, just pure gothic sass. - - - - - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81lVcDDUBSL._SY355_.jpg |
4 | | Alcest Ecailles De Lune
Haunted Twyla - - - - Though a relatively simplistic outfit, Twyla hits her representational peak with this less-is-more approach to teenage couture. A subtle one piece with a brilliant pattern and a silver chain ribbon are all that holds her torso from the fragility of her tattooed, floaty body, while her glass hourglass bracelet and heels (and awesome stand) just kick her absolutely flawless color scheme into overdrive. Overshadows in every way the silver medalist Haunted Rochelle, who attempted a similar look this series. - - - - - http://mat.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMAT1-19727955enh-z6.jpg |
3 | | Mayhem De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Ghouls Rule Frankie - - - - - Truly the best representation of Frankie Stein's premise, with her stylistic choice horror-tastically monochrome and her accessories as indebted to the spirit of Halloween as anything called "Monster" High has any business being. Also beautiful, confident blacks and lace help stand her up as one of the more mature-ly minded designs of the franchise. - - - - - http://fabricfriendsdolls.com/images/Frankie%20Stein%20Ghouls%20Rule.jpg |
2 | | Zeigeist The Jade Motel
Freak Du Chic Twyla - - - - - The strongest outfit from the most avant-garde series, Twyla steps out of her pastel trademark a little bit in favor of minty contrast and shock vogue. The boots alone are something of an acheivement, but really the entire outfit - from the monochrome leg drapery to the pom poms and confident broccoli curls - is a piece of mystique-y art. - - - - - http://scene7.targetimg1.com/is/image/Target/17299588?wid=480&hei=480 |

Boo York Astranova - - - - - What's not the love about a crystalline, alien fairy with indigo skin? Hardly even thematically relevant to the series it's from, the underexplored yet fantastically original Boo York Astranova comes with a cosmic cemetery gate stand and a giant iridium crystal from which she can fucking magnetically float from underneath, like a tour guide to the astral plane. I don't know why she doesn't have a bigger following, but I'm just glad she hasn't been enslaved to the annual redundant valley girl filler entourage. - - - - - http://mat.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMAT1-21486519enh-z6.jpg |
