03.02.11 | Another list was made about how the site has helped to appreciate albums you wouldn't have otherwise and I felt like making one that complimented that list (can't remember the name of the user or I'd give credit where credit was due). I had one of the aforementioned work breaks, and decided to throw up some of the stuff by going through my catalog of music. I thought there was more, but there has been a burst of material that sounds very interesting to me that I haven't even got through yet (Defeater, Black Angel, and quite a few others) so I'm sure I'd have more to add to the list.
Sputnik for all that people bitch about it, is a pretty alright place to go. I just bring my industrial mental umbrella for all of the intellectual diarrhea.

03.02.11 | Bungy: I'm not even kidding about the crutch thing. I spend 12 of the 18 hours that I'm awake in my studio, and when I'm taking a break this is where I go. I was actually worrying about whether or not I was spending too much time here, and then I took a look at a lot of the material that has enriched my daily life by exposing me to music I wouldn't otherwise have heard, and I realized it's not a waste. Not like it's some sort of life changing ephiphany but it's still a good thing to remember when you read people bitching about this place. It's prettyr rare that you can find such a diverse community that feeds off it's users. Not in a vampiric sort of way mind you, but even the biggest douchebag on this site can have an effect by bringing something new to the community at large, intentionally or not. |
