Weekly DiscoRuns 3: Melt-Banana

We're into the third week. Last week we had an amazing tie. DemonoftheFall chose the band for this week: Melt-Banana. Trifolium added the new band to the list: Radiohead. Rules are below
1Melt-Banana
Fetch

I will do a full discography run each week and you guys get to choose which band I'll tackle.
2Avantasia
The Scarecrow

I will individually rate every song (or a top 100 if there are more, since Sput doesn't allow the lists to be longer than that). Guess what my top 10 is going to be. You get a point for each song that's in the list, and three points for each song that is in the correct spot.
3Glen Hansard
Rhythm and Repose

The person that has the most points wins and gets to choose out of these five artists for me to do next week. He/she also gets to choose a artist that replaces it in the list, so the winner always has five bands to choose from. This week DemonoftheFall chose: Melt-Banana!
4Kendrick Lamar
To Pimp a Butterfly

A couple of small rules:
- When a winner wants to add a band to next weeks list, keep in mind my personal preference. I'm not going to listen to five+ albums of a band I don't enjoy. It needs to be at least on average 3/5-worthy to me. If you want to add a band I don't know, I will take a listen to a couple of songs to see if I accept it.
- LP's only. I'm not going to listen to every demo/EP the band has released. Exceptions can occur when a EP has significant value in the bands discography (for instance, with The Dear Hunter I did include 'The Color Spectrum'). If you want me to include EP's or bonus-tracks, say so beforehand. By default I will not include them.
- I will always try to tackle all the albums in a given week. However, I am not going to be able to listen to all 22 Jethro Tull albums. If I feel a band has too many albums, I will ask you to make a selection.
5Tool
10,000 Days

So with all that out of the way, let's get started with this weeks Discography run: 'Melt-Banana'. Vote for what you think my top 10 is going to be. I will cover the following albums:
- Cactuses Come in the Flocks
- Speak Squeak Creak
- Scratch or Stitch
- Charlie
- Teeny Shiny
- Cell-Scape
- Bambi's Dilemma
- Fetch
6Radiohead
OK Computer

Number 1 is this weeks run, rest of the list is the five the winner get's to choose from.
7Melt-banana
Teeny Shiny

Number 10: Free the Bee
I can already stand this waaaayyy better than anything that came before this. I actually enjoy this. There's a lot more order in the chaos.
8Melt-banana
Teeny Shiny

Number 9: Cub, Not Cube
Title's cute. Track is nice
9Melt-banana
Fetch

Number 8: Schemes of the Tails
This one really stood out to me because of its buildup, something that the other songs don't really do at all. It's a little off-key and I guess that's the point.
10Melt-banana
Bambi's Dilemma

Number 7: Spider Snipe
Yeah okey this is pretty much a staight-up fun song more than it is aggressive or pummeling. Theres more fun here and I like that
11Melt-banana
Bambi's Dilemma

Number 6: Cat Brain Land
It feels like they're moving away from grind at this point and are replacing it with a more punk-hardcore vibe. But yeah, with female Pikachu on vocals.
12Melt-banana
Bambi's Dilemma

Number 5: Crow's Paint Brush (Color Repair)
Ha this is a fun one. Its actually pretty happy :D
13Melt-banana
Cell-Scape

Number 4: A Dreamer Who is Too Weak to Face Up To
This is a pretty cool song. I like that there's a lot more structure to hold on to on these later records. Brings more enjoyment for me.
14Melt-banana
Fetch

Number 3: Candy Gun
They have grown so much since they first started that it almost sounds like a completely different band. This has such a better production than all previous albums except for maybe Cell-Scape
15Melt-banana
Bambi's Dilemma

Number 2: Cracked Plaster Cast
Wait hold up.. Is that an actual melodic intro there Melt-Banana? Cool!
16Melt-banana
Cell-Scape

Number 1: Shield for You Eyes, a Beast in the Well on Your Hand
This is a really great song, even catchy at times. This might be the first time I'm actually heartily enjoying Melt-Banana. Even at 4 min, I don't feel that it overstays its welcome.
