All Hope is Gone

They changed their masks and to tried to top the experimantation they tried on their last album, which drew new fans and radio play, but here every song is so diffrent it makes an inconsistent and unfocused album. The musicianship is overall solid but the main problem is Corey taylors vocals that are simple horrible. He sounds like he cant decide what bad hes singing for, slipknot or stone sour. And on top of all of it are the radio hits that have hurt the bands reputation, which was never good to begin with. Horrible album.

Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)

Slipknot were still in top form and they did alot of experimenting on this album, some that worked and other thats didn't, and it was probably good cuz their two previous albums had followed the same formula but the failed experiments on album do make it hard to listen to all the way through.

Iowa

Followed the previous efforts formula but is probably the bands heaviest album.

Slipknot

This album wasn't groundbreaking but it was extremely heavy, they were more metal than they were rap, and so far into their career this is the definitve slipknot album.
