Pump up the Volume - Gained me so much respect for Christian Slater. This was a better and more original film than the more recent and commercially viable Pirate Radio, filled with authentic teenage angst and rebellion against authority.

04.04.12 | Really nice list dude! Lots of awesome movies on here- you have good taste :D
For Being John Malkovich (which is also one of my all-time favorites):
--Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
--Adaptation
--Synecdoche, New York
These are all by the same writer as BJM - Charlie Kaufman. He's an absolute genius. If you like Being John Malkovich you will definitely like anything else by him. They all have the same sense of off-beat humor, the very odd plot plot devices, and examine a lot of the same philosophical ideas.
For The Dark Knight:
--Memento
--Insomnia
--The Prestige
Christopher Nolan is a fantastic director. You can't go wrong with anything by him.
For Kill Bill Vol. 1:
--Kill Bill Vol. 2 (I'm being sarcastic :D .. just think it's amusing how so many people seem to like the first and hate the second)
--Hero
-- Any Quentin Tarantino - I'm sure you've probably seen them
Hero is produced by Quentin Tarantino. You'd think it's just another one of those run-of-the-mill Jet Li foreign action films.. but you really couldn't be more wrong. If you haven't seen it, don't hesitate. Has absolutely STUNNING cinematography, a very rich, thought provoking plot, and absolutely brilliantly choreographed action.
Obviously anything else by Stanley Kubrick. My favorites that you haven't listed on here are:
--2001: A Space Odyssey
--The Shining
--Full Metal Jacket
--Barry Lyndon
--Dr. Strangelove
Other random movies that I love which aren't on here:
--Requiem for a Dream
--Black Swan
--There Will Be Blood
--Pan's Labyrinth
Sorry for anything you've already seen! Hopefully there's at least something on here that you haven't. They're all definitely worth your time. ^_^ |

--The Shining (gotta really be in the mood for this one)
