Best Albums Of 2009

Here Are My Top 10 Albums of 2009. Hope you agree. Please comment.
1Alice In Chains
Black Gives Way To Blue

Its an album nobody thought would ever happen, and if it did, no-one would have thought it would be this kind of masterpiece. From the ferocious and unsettling Looking In View, and the poppy Check my Brain, to acoustic Your Decision and Black Gives Way To Blue, this is AIC at their very best. Stanley is dead. Long Live Alice in Chains.
2Pearl Jam
Backspacer

Backspacer is probably the closest pearl jam have come to returning to their epic debut Ten. When it gets going it develops into something strange, beautiful..and rather special.
3Rammstein
Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da

This is the most complete album the Geramns have ever made. Their mad and mighty vision perfectley fullfilled. Its heroically exessive slabs of metal countered by skillfully placed light and shade.
4Dream Theater
Black Clouds And Silver Linings

The prog metal lords are back with one of the most inventive and heavy albums in their catalouge, if you want an album with hairpin turns and twists, Black... will confuse the hell out of your prog-rock sat-nav.
5Biffy Clyro
Only Revolutions

Biffy Clyro have stuck to their guns with 'Only Revolutions', and its paid of. The addition of the 100 piece orchestra adds more to the album and BC turn out with another great album.
6Mastodon
Crack The Skye

If you need reassurance that their are bands that go beyond coocie-cutter metal and tired retro retreads, and who make hard rock as they intended listen to, then listen to Crack... a heavy metal masterpiece.
7 The Blackout
Best In Town

Even after one listen it is clear that The Best In Town is a more defined and rounded effort than their debut album.
8Slayer
World Painted Blood

The Reigning lords of metal deliver another slab of furious metal. did you expect anyting else? Of course not.
9Converge
Axe To Fall

Axe To Fall gives us a classic Converge album, but with a few well recieved differences.
10Muse
The Resistance

Confirming that they have evolved into a post millenial Queen, albeit with a touch less camp and a lot more swivel eyed craziness, The Resistiamce is an extravagant and bold record.
11 Alexisonfire
Old Crows/Young Cardinals

Alexisonfire make their best record to date with Old Crows/Young Cardinals.
12 Gallows
Grey Britian

The boys from Watford deliver an album with crushing guitar riffs, killer bass lines and political lyrics, Grey Britian expreiments with metal folk and classical.
13Lamb Of God
Wrath

Lamb Of God dont experiment or veer of the path on 'Wrath', which is a good thing. The Virginia metal band get back to brain battering basics on an album that crackles with metallic intensity.
14LeatherMouth
XO

When it was announced that My Chemical Romance's Guitarist Frank Iero would be making a side-project called'Leathermouth', no-one was expecting it to be as aggressive and dark as XO. Recorded in various basements arond America, XO is aggressive, dark, and heavy.
15Porcupine Tree
The Incident

On the face of it this is a typically reassuring PT album, but dip beneath the surface and 'The Incident' is an unnerving masterpiece. Its forlorn...but undeniably brilliant.
