05.10.11 | credit were its due, the Mavs played a great series and were the better team, were they a 4-0 sweep better? Probably not. 30+ point in a closeout game better? Def not, they were great but the Lakers made them look much better than they are |
Obfuscation24
05.10.11 | tink dont you talk bad about kobe :'( |
Josh D.
05.10.11 | The Lakers were so bad in that series, the Pittsburgh Pirates just drafted them. |
NigelH
05.10.11 | The Celtics just choked big time....so I feel your pain. KG can't bring it every night like he used to, and that just won't get it done anymore. |

05.10.11 | Well it was my third strike for trolling too many threads apparently and Jom wanted me to write a book report to prove I was actually intelligent and worthy of unbanning, but that would be too much work so I just made a new account. |

05.10.11 | as a lakers fan, i want bynum out. he's been hurt the last two seasons when we were actually fighting to get to the finals. he has no fight in him (the good kind, not the punk kind) and this post season showed that if you get him flustered he just falls apart. kobe has played 15 seasons and all that wear and tear is catching up with him. maybe with this impending lock out he can finally get some rest and heal up enough to recapture some of his old self, but even if, i think that management should be grooming his replacement scoring-wise, and if everything goes well with that (whoever they decide to get for that) it will hopefully get them back to their normal contender position and let him go out on top in a few years. |

05.10.11 | Ron Artest wanted to make another rap album anyway. With some time on his hands now it might turn out better. |

05.10.11 | I was pretty dissapointed with how everyone on the Lakers' squad played this post-season. I agree with everything on this list, except for maybe Kobe. True, he isn't the player he used to be... but he's still clutch as fuck. Nobody better at hitting game winning 3's than he is (I was shocked he missed that buzzard beater in game 2). It is rebuilding time. Brian Shaw will probably take the head coaching spot. |

05.10.11 | this grizzlies thunder game is fantastic. hoping for 2OT |

05.10.11 | yeah that was just pathetically juvenile |
toxin.
05.10.11 | Lol you're overreacting.
Who cares whether Kobe's a true leader for credit or for real? I came out of this series learning that Kobe was the ONLY person we could rely on, because he didn't even try forcing anything. He tried coax good games out of his teammates. And even though his skills are diminishing, he's still good.
And yeah, put D-Fish on the bench for leadership, get the bench the fuck out of here (I can't believe I miss Sasha and Farmar. Seriously?), get a new point guard.
I don't know what happened to Pau, but he still can be a premier player if he stops being a little bitch.
Bynum, who cares if he didn't show any class? From a basketball perspective, he was the only not-Kobe Laker who came to play against the Mavericks.
Odom is just, goddamn. Quit that fucking reality show, seriously. And we need some 3 point shooters. My solutions are pretty superficial, but the Lakers' problems aren't really that big. Like the Mavericks got extremely lucky to be shooting at such a ridiculous rate, and that combined with Pau's issues made the Lakers seem like they have more problems than they do.
And as for Phil, they stopped listening to him, I think. Aside from Kobe (who you could tell in Game 4 was still trying, at least in Q1), they just tuned him out. As much as I love him, he needed to yell at the Lakers to get their shit together, and perhaps a new coach is necessary. |

05.10.11 | laker fans are the only group so delusional in the country that they believe they can reel in dwight howard and give up nothing substantial (bynum isn't substantial) in return |
toxin.
05.10.11 | ^If we can get Pau Gasol for virtually nothing... (No one knew Marc was gonna be a beast) |

05.10.11 | few owners/GMs are as retarded as heisley/wallace |

05.10.11 | ^It was a joke. (Although to their credit, the Grizz are the ones in the playoffs, and not the Lakers).
I'd be okay with any two players not Kobe for Dwight Howard, but I don't know why the Magic would want Bynum or Odom or anyone else. Apparently rumor is that the Magic want to ship out Arenas along with Dwight, but who wants to pay two more years of $22 million per for that pathetic piece of shit? |
somberlain
05.11.11 | @ pit
yeah I fucked up on that, CP3 and Howard aren't free agents 'til next year
but talks of Howard to LA already started, they need a pointguard though not a big man |
cirq
05.11.11 | get rid of everyone except lamar, kobe and brown.
go get dwight and jameer. |
somberlain
05.11.11 | it's not a done deal that Shaw will be the coach, idk who else they can get
@cirq
lots of long term contracts there, it's not that easy |

05.11.11 | look out for OKC the next few years pit |
klap
05.11.11 | shannon sucks cirq you should let him walk. and if the lakers want jameer and dwight they're going to have to involve another team, they don't have enough for that |
somberlain
05.11.11 | exactly, Dallas this year, OKC the next few years |
cirq
05.11.11 | no, im definitely not saying that shit would be easy or that it will only involve the lakers and the magic. im just saying, get that shit done. |
ShadowRemains
05.11.11 | they seem to be relying on D Rose too much |
AngelofDeath
05.11.11 | Pretty much. Was hopeful the Hawks would take it tonight. Teague was rippin' it up in the third quarter, but they just got stuffed last period. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | I thought the Hawks could pull it off, but the Bulls D is just too sick. Teague is gonna be a stud though. The Hinrich injury might end up being a blessing in disguise. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | We can talk about the Celtics, and how they should have won that game in regulation. That is until KG and Ray Allen decided to forget their own play, causing Pierce to throw up that abomination of a shot. Props to the Heat though, they came to play. Bron hit some big shots. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | The play wasn't designed for Ray. Him and KG were supposed to provide a brush screen to free up Pierce so he could get to his sweet spot (top of the key, right side of the court). Unfortunately, they ran into each other, causing Pierce to go 1-on-1 with LeBron, who frankly D'd his ass up. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | I can't say he definitely would have hit it. I mean, who knows. Pierce is clutch though, and he's buried countless game-winners from that spot on the court....so we would have had a good chance. Should be interesting to see if the old men can take one at your place though. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | Say the Heat advance. You think they're gonna take the Bulls? They haven't looked good so far in the playoffs, but they would provide a formidable challenge. |
NigelH
05.11.11 | True true, but I just don't see the Bulls dropping that series (against ATL). You'd think Chicago would be able to find more scoring what with Deng and Boozer being on that team, but they've been inconsistent as fuck. Tonight they both had decent games though and the Hawks couldn't hang. If it ends up happening, Bulls-Heat will be an epic defensive battle. |
