Your Relationship w/Music

How do you feel streaming music has impacted the way to ingest/digest music? Do you feel as connected the music you consume as you did when tapes/CDs were still the standard?
An Unexpected Reality

I for one do not. Don't misunderstand... there are still some records that I find now that really resonate with me, but music on the whole sometimes feels more "disposable" for lack of a better term.
2The Chronicles of Israfel
Starborn, Tome I

Like I'm sure many of you did, when I was younger, when you bought a record, you listened to it until it was worn out. Buying records meant something, and you would only buy a handful of albums at a time and then REALLY listen to them. Having every recorded song in history at our fingertips is a blessing and a curse.

I know this all sounds very boomer-ish of me.
4Desolate Shrine
Tenebrous Towers

I know that being a music "journalist" (using that term loosely) has not helped this. There's always that unsaid feeling of a)not wanting to miss out on what's "hot' and b)wanting to be the one to "break" that next new hot thing.

I've been trying to slow down recently and really enjoy the music I listen to nowadays. Some days it's more difficult than ever as I am now accustomed to listening to one song from a band and then immediately changing it to something else.
