How Am I Not Deaf Yet - 3 Years of Concerts/Hard Jams
Probably forgetting like 20 shows, but this is what I've seen just in the last 3 years, almost all during the times when I was single (which was about half). The lesson: 1. Rock is life. 2. Stay single. Life is better. |
1 | | Tool Ænima
7th row. By Chancellor. I can't even fucking begin to explain how incredible that rhythm section sounds live. |
2 | | A Perfect Circle Mer de Noms
Drove from Fargo to Tulsa for this one. Was going to go with my GF at the time. She started a fight and said we weren't going. I still went, by myself and had a fucking blast. |
3 | | Metallica Ride the Lightning
Saw them 3 times in one week (Sioux Falls, Grand Forks, Minneapolis). Went to the Minneapolis show with Inveigh and we rocked like absolute GODs |
4 | | Slayer Reign in Blood
I'm 38 and survived the pit. Helps that I'm huge and was once a mighty athlete. |
5 | | Judas Priest Painkiller
M/ |
6 | | The National Boxer
Ok this is cheating as its this Friday in Chicago but whatever I'm stoked. |
7 | | Anthrax Among the Living
Actually somehow saw them 3 times in this period. Shred fest every time. Their songs are WAY better live. |
8 | | Deftones White Pony
Was baked AF for this one, worked out well. |
9 | | Fleetwood Mac Rumours
Twice. Had 3rd row both times. Stevie sang a cover of Free Falling with a video montage to Tom Petty and I fucking lost it. |
10 | | Bob Seger Night Moves
73 and still crushing it. |
11 | | Paul McCartney McCartney
Took my daughter to see him at Lambeau Field (only a 8 hour drive). Was one of the best nights of my life. 38 songs. 3 hours. |
12 | | Alice in Chains Dirt
They sound awesome, although their stage presence is terrible tbh |
13 | | Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind
Twice. Honestly they sucked hard both times. Played fine but totally mailed in the shows. Showed up, played for an hour, and left. |
14 | | Garth Brooks No Fences
No one puts in more effort in his shows. Absolutely nobody. Incredible performer. |
15 | | Foo Fighters Foo Fighters
Can't even begin to describe how fucking awesome Dave Grohl is in concert. A MUST see. |
16 | | Kiss KISS
It was a show. It delivered on that front. |
17 | | Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Back to back nights. Same exact show both nights. Played almost 3 hours. Man still jams hard. Music, that is. |
18 | | Frightened Rabbit The Midnight Organ Fight
Saw them 4 days after Prince died, in Minneapolis. Scott did an acoustic cover of Purple Rain. Wasn't a dry eye in the house. Incredible show. Incredibly grateful I got to see him before he passed. |
19 | | Gang of Youths Go Farther in Lightness
Saw them in a club that holds maybe 200 people. I was right up front, jamming extremely hard, singing almost every word. The singer pointed at me several times in acknowledgement. I was vindicated. |
20 | | Baroness Purple
These guys absolutely fucking slay. All of the songs are MUCH better live. |
21 | | Black Label Society Mafia
Absolute shred fest |
22 | | Corrosion of Conformity Deliverance
I mean they have hard jams |
23 | | Testament The New Order
Great live band. Chuck rules hard. |
24 | | Lamb of God As the Palaces Burn
These guys are substantially better live. |
25 | | Godsmack Godsmack
Believe it or not, they fucking slay live. |
26 | | Weezer Weezer
Was an emotional night. My daughter's first rock concert, and I found out my friend commited suicide an hour before the show. Needless to say I was a fucking puddle during Say It Aint So |
27 | | Pixies Doolittle
Sounded great. ZERO showmanship. Didn't talk to the crowd once. |
28 | | Shinedown The Sound of Madness
Was right up by the stage so maybe I'm overrating it, but they have incredible energy. |
29 | | Atmosphere God Loves Ugly
Got to meet Slug before the show, great night. |
30 | | Volbeat The Strength/The Sound/The Songs
They opened for Godsmack and mailed it in. I was pissed. |
31 | | Goo Goo Dolls A Boy Named Goo
What can I say I'm a 90s kid, the nostalgia was high. |
32 | | Killswitch Engage As Daylight Dies
This ruled hard. Jesse sounded great, Adam is a fucking showman. |
33 | | Jackyl Jackyl
One of the most entertaining live bands ever. Chainsaws and whiskey and songs about cocks, hookers, and guns. |
34 | | Kid Rock Devil Without a Cause
Say what you will this guy puts on a monster show. He plays multiple instruments too. I was actually shocked how good the show was. |
35 | | The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers
I got a solid workout in this night, holy shit. |
36 | | The Avett Brothers I and Love and You
Love this band. Played too many ballads. |
37 | | Saxon Denim and Leather
They opened for Priest and almost blew them off the stage. |
38 | | Soul Asylum Grave Dancers Union
Club of maybe 200 people in Eau Claire, WI. Quality show. |
39 | | Seether Disclaimer
Absolutely terrible stage presence. |
40 | | Poison Flesh & Blood
m/ hard. Say what you will, Poison shows are a fucking party. |
41 | | Behemoth And the Forests Dream Eternally
I hate this genre but they did alright. |
42 | | Bush Sixteen Stone
Gavin likes to go into the crowd. |
43 | | Fuel Something Like Human
Terrible live band |
44 | | Sevendust Sevendust
Met Lajon before the show so that was cool, performance was average. |
45 | | Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
Heafy shreds hard live. They blew Sevendust off the stage. |
46 | | Macklemore and Ryan Lewis The Heist
It was a free show as he played a private concert at a Microsoft event. Was pretty fun. I was rocking harder than anyone. Nerds. |
47 | | Aaron Lewis The Road
I JUST missed the show where he went completely OFF on the crowd for talking. Did a shitload of covers. Guy can sing. |
48 | | Lita Ford Lita
Still hot AF |
49 | | Tesla Mechanical Resonance
Was like the 5th time I'd seen them so whatever. |
50 | | Feist Pleasure
All acoustic show in Seattle. I went because I was working on this chick on my team and she wanted to go. |
51 | | Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons
Ok obviously this band SUCKS , but there was a cool moment. They were playing the Key Arena in Seattle days after Tom Petty died, and they did an acoustic cover of I Wont Back Down, 20,000 people singing. Chills to the bone. As for their own songs, well, fuck them. |
52 | | Ace Frehley Ace Frehley
Solo. He sucked. |
53 | | Kix Blow My Fuse
The singer is like 5'1 120 lbs and would lose a fight to a parapalegic field mouse, but they actually jam hard. |
54 | | Sawyer Brown Greatest Hits 1990-1995
I live in ND. Do the math. |
55 | | Brothers Osborne Port Saint Joe
They actually rule live. |
56 | | Kansas Carry On
Snooze fest. |
57 | | Havok Time Is Up
Fuck these guys shred live. |
58 | | Vince Neil Carved In Stone
Its twice as bad as I was prepared for. Absolute train wreck. I still loved every second of it. Motley for life. |
