Metal: A Headbanger's Journey

was a great documentary. I just finished watching it and the guy running it was great. He hit most of the stops and didn't skip anything even if it portrayed Metal in a bad way. I only wish all people had this view when considering an extremely misjudged (though not on sputnik) genre. List is what I consider some of my favorite/influential metal albums.
1Carcass
Heartwork

Though their earlier work is probably a little better, this was one of the metal albums that really made me fall in love with the genre.
2Opeth
Blackwater Park

Prog-Metal at its finest as well as its most accessible.
3Strapping Young Lad
City

Holy S**t did I jiz when I first heard this.
4Gojira
The Way of All Flesh

First taste of Death Metal
5Isis
Wavering Radiant

Although I like Oceanic a little better, This started my love with Post-Metal.
6The Red Chord
Fused Together in Revolving Doors

Though I went into this band prepared to hate them from the first song, they usurped my expectations and I've loved Grind ever since.
7Between the Buried and Me
Alaska

I'm pretty sure ALL of us have gone through a BtBaM phase.
