| Talkin' About Movies
Yep jus talkin about movies | 1 | | Strawfoot Chasing Locusts
"Standard Operating Procedure" 9 out of 10 Documentary by Errol Morris about the whole Abu Ghirab thing. It's told through interviews with some of the alleged "perps" and some other people involved with the shit. the film protrays those involved as patsies set up to take the fall for all the illegal treatment of iraqi prisoners the military was involved in. Pretty facinating/horrifying shit. | 2 | | 16 Horsepower Secret South
"Roger and Me" 9 out of 10 A great portrait of the sad death of a once great city and one man's journey to confront the man he believes is responsible. The interview with that newlyweds guy was hilarious, specially the aids joke he made. | 3 | | Pino Donaggio Body Double
"Body Double" 9 out of 10 Other than Carrie this is the best De Palma movie I've seen. It's crazy meta with a lot of bare breasts so it's my kinna film. Plus the score is amazing, just check out this cut; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYQmsyYxSFk | 4 | | Reverend Glasseye Our Lady of the Broken Spine
"Griff the Invisible" 5.5 out of 10 An autistic man by day lives a boring life as an office worker who's tormented by his co-workers by night he enters a fantasy world where he's a famous vigilante. It's a great concept for a movie but I didn't like. But my mom and sister loved it so it's for some people. basically if you liked "Lars and the Real Girl" you'll like Griff | 5 | | Buddy Holly The Chirping Crickets
"Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story" 9.5 out of 10 One of my favorite docs it's about the infamous political genius behind Bush I's '88 presidential campaign (a.k.a. the guy who made Willie Horton Dukakis' running mate), whose influence on politics is still felt today. The film really humanizes a gleefully unethical guy, and makes the audience actually feel bad for this guy. | 6 | | Slim Cessna's Auto Club American Country Music Changed Her Life
"Superman: Doomsday" and "Doctor Strange" 6.0 / 5.5 out of 10 | 7 | | Tom T. Hall The Essential Tom T. Hall

12.07.11 | Body Double is really good. idk about 9/10, but whatever.
Serious question though. Did you use the term "meta" before Community started airing? | americanohno
12.07.11 | yh man. I think anyway, although i believe meta- is usually used to be a prefix meaning beyond.
I'm not sure when meta began to be used as meaning basically "really fucking self-aware" but i'm pretty sure it predates community. | taxidermist
12.07.11 | I randomly watched Body Double earlier this year. Was cool. Ending was odd. | Gilgamahesh

metacognition |ˌmetəˌkägˈni sh ən|
noun - Psychology
awareness and understanding of one's own thought processes.
So what that guy said basically. | North0House2
12.07.11 | Yo, check out Severed Ways. It's just vikings walking in the woods to black metal. One of them poops at a point. I think it's a pretty long movie too, haha.
