My Top Ten Albums

The ten best albums EVAR. For me.
1The Cure
Disintegration

Just epic. It's like an actual piece of art, and has some of the best songs ever recorded. It's also a perfect example of when the music speaks to you much more than lyrics could. Almost every song has an epic keyboard riff, and all the songs work so well and just instantly stick in your head. This is literally THE greatest album. In my opinion.
2Brand New
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

Awesome material the whole way through. Limousine especially just has so many good parts.
3Radiohead
Kid A

It was a difficult choice between this and OK Computer, but this album is both emotional, disorientating, epic, moving, happy and nihilistic all at once. Plus, it's one of the most unique albums you'll ever heard. OK Computer would be number 4 but I can't be assed putting it on the list, so let's call this my top 11, or whatever.
4Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream

Because it's THE alternative album. Disarm, Rocket, Mayonnaise, Geek USA, so many good songs, and they all work so well.
5The Smiths
The Queen is Dead

A highlight reel of classic songs, and some of the best lyrics ever. "There is a Light that Never goes Out" and "Bigmouth Strikes Again" are two of the bands best songs, however the only song this that ISN'T a classic is "Vicar in a Tutu".
6Refused
The Shape of Punk to Come

The most energetic pump-up music you'll ever hear. Also has this weird charm you never find with other hardcore bands. I'm not going to act like i'm some sort of anarchist who follows it's harsh political stance, but when the music is this good, they could be singing about anything.
7At The Drive-In
Relationship Of Command

ON MY WAY NAILS BROKE AND FELL INTO THE

8Brand New
Deja Entendu

This is the ultimate pop punk album. It's got everything good about the genre and none of the bad elements, save the occasional cheesy line. Some of the catchiest, most memorable songs ever on this. "Good to Know", "Sic Transit Gloria", "Quiet Things", "Play Crack the Sky".. in fact, every song on here. And the songs that aren't usually mentioned "Spin Light, Jaws Theme Swimming" are still fantastic too.
9The Strokes
Is This It?

Easily the best "mainstream" indie band.. This album is the perfect soundtrack to a night out, and not a single bad song. I'd reccomend this to just about anyone, unless they hate retro garage rock with an over the top passion.
10Death Cab for Cutie
Transatlanticism

At first listen seems like a cutesy poppy record, but then turns out to be a surprisingly emotional mellow yet loud and heavy indie-pop record. You can see why the band has a legion of female fans with Ben Gibbards nice-guy woes and catchy songs, but that doesn't take anything away from this being one super duper album with a perfect balance of innovativeness and catchiness.
