icebliink 04.16.13	Zombie dust is incredible, Revolution brewing's Anti-Hero is another great beer from the Chicago area.
Spec 04.16.13	These sound great but I doubt i'll ever have the chance to try one.
Inveigh 04.16.13	Three Floyds is probably my favorite brewery, though Stone, Lagunitas, Bells and Founders are all worthy contenders my favorite Chicago area brewery outside of Floyds would probably be Pipeworks (their IPA/DIPA selections are amazing) but I also have love for Two Brothers, especially since they're about 5 min from my place

killrobotmusic 04.16.13	The Founders porter is the best I've had, but the Flying Dog Gonzo (though an imperial porter) is a close second. I'm not sure what is sold in your area, but some I've been rocking lately include: Dogfish Head Aprihop (IPA-esque beer cut with Apricot; not too sweet) Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale (bitter, mean black IPA) pretty much anything Hitachino Nest (rad Japanese beers, the Ginger one is real good) The Ommegang Game of Thrones beer (created with their Belgian-esque open fermentor room, has a complex fruity/yeasty flavor) And yes... three cheer for Old Rasputin (and also Brother Theloneous, which is also made by North Coast).

FigNewtns 04.30.13	@Inveigh: yup, alchemy hour has a bit too much alcohol in it for my taste but rye of the tiger was really well balanced. i think my favorite ipa is probably Crooked Tree IPA from Dark Horse, but i'm more partial to darker ales/lagers. and there's this bar/brewery in Athens that's about to start canning their beers (Jakie O's Brewery) so look out for them if any of you cats live in/near/around southern Ohio.
