Sharenge 07.09.23	those are really just 'mons I've had in rotation and been leveling recently on SoulSilver (well except for Charizard - still haven't gotten my Charmander, but Charmander isn't end-game in Yellow... you can get him in an in-game trade mid-game if I remember correctly) but yeah need to get a few more 'mons into the 70s or 80s level range before my fight against Red atop Mt. Silver (well either that or come at him with Lugia, Ho-oh and Mewtwo, but I don't think I'm gonna go that route lol)... once I beat him I can go get my Charmander
Demon of the Fall 07.09.23	Black 2 is my fave game of the entire series btw, the games became too linear after that gen - team building was still fun in X/Y and S/M (just that the map design suffered). Sw/Sh are the worst games by far because of forced xP share and clumsy transition to Switch. What I’m saying is, don’t skip BW2.

el_newg 07.09.23	I can't go back to the early gens any more. so many QOL updates over the years, and great features like natures, abilities, special split, etc. plus much bigger rosters means so many more options.

Think I must’ve just played it as a kid and coincidentally went to check if I could obtain Bulba after six badges and assumed that was the reason or something I seem to remember the criteria being fairly vague if you just go by what she says to you.
Groundking 07.09.23	Nidoking, Starmie and Kadabra/Alakazam are easy mode Best gen is gen 2 and the best version of gen 2 is Polished Crystal with physical special split, abilities, all items gen 7 mechanics all evo's and regional forms. Highly recommend it @pika

ConcubinaryCode 07.10.23	You can actually trade for a machamp and rhydon in yellow and iirc they ask for easy to get pokemon. It's worth it for the extra exp gain. Also get Snorlax.

Pikazilla 07.10.23	technically there was a box glitch that let you get all three starts in r/b as well as s/g/c you simply had to box your starter and start a new save - the starter would have remained in the box that's how I got rita, toto, and cynda in my silver version, didn't even need to trade

Demon of the Fall 07.10.23	the idea of playing gen 1 again is ultimately always more appealing than actually diving in I find. Probably best left in the past, although I’m guessing the remakes are better (never had a GBA so didn’t play them) If I want that old school nostalgia I just play HG/SS, gen 2 gives me those same vibes whilst retaining the ability to explore Kanto for the feels
Trebor. 07.10.23	red/blue/yellow is so bizarre and easy to break because the coding is so bad Like the RNG on razor leaf is broken and almost always crits so Venusaur becomes the best starter even though he should be the worst
YoYoMancuso 07.11.23	If you use amnesia in gen 1 to max mewtwo’s special, it ends up having the lowest special stat in the entire game because it’s already so high to begin with
