01.23.09 | Okay, I'm going to list you some albums that you will listen to somehow, k? And you WILL like them or else I will send my niggas around and they WILL be packing heat, motherfucker.
1. Weezer - Blue
2. Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSound
4. Jurassic 5 - Quality Control
5. I'm agreeing with you not liking screamo (yet) but try giving Thrice - The Artist In The Ambulance a whirl
also lol at your album ratings |
PayneTiger777
01.23.09 | Yeah. |
Bsmith7
01.23.09 | I guess there is no longer a limit on the percentage of your ratings that can be a 5? |
PayneTiger777
01.23.09 | Wait...you rated Ziltoid by Devin Townsend a 5? What? I'm really confused here. |
kingsoby1
01.23.09 | wow 5/5 list
you should have like 10-20 with that rating, tops... do you really think almost every porcupine tree album is a classic? |
Nagrarok
01.23.09 | These guys are right. You really should work on your ratings. only true classics deserve 5's. |
badtaste
01.23.09 | lol, those ratings are worthy of being reported. FANBOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYY.
Anyway, if you limit yourself to only particular genres, then you're limiting YO MIND, respekt. |
SnackaryBinx
01.23.09 | man i love you. it's the ratings though that make me love you. |
ninjuice
01.23.09 | dido on your ludicrous album ratings.
and you're really missing out on a LOT of great music by avoiding pop or hip-hop. |
Poet
01.23.09 | lol I am not even that big of a Nightwish fanboy to rate almost all of their albums a 5. |
Chewie
01.23.09 | your album ratings a wee bit suspicious
-_- |
Yotimi
01.23.09 | OK, I can understand disliking Country music. But you're seriously limiting yourself from plenty of great music (which doesn't include collective soul.) Not to run this into the ground, but change your ratings right now. |
arsonist88
01.23.09 | I think thats the lowest objectivity score I've ever seen. Also, I wouldn't just write off genres like that. Yeah, theres a lot of crappy bands in the pop, country, and rap genre, but theres also a lot of crap in every genre. Like all good music, you need to search for it most of the time. |
Mendigo
01.23.09 | haha, fantastic album ratings :P
just for the hell of it: here are my recs for those genres you think you'd dislike:
1. well, dunno what you're actually refering to. but here are some great albums I believe to be Pop/Rock
The Beatles - Abbey Road
R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
The Decemberists - The Crane Wife (goes more into the folk rock direction, but a good album anyway)
2. some older pop classics (again I don't know which kind of pop you mean)
Billy Joel - The Stranger
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
The Zombies - Odessey & Oracle
3. Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around
Bonnie "Prince" Billy - I See a Darkness
4. don't like too much rap either, but that's mainly because I haven't listened to a lot yet. but I really love this one:
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
and more experimental, but still hip hop in a way is:
cLOUDDEAD - Ten
5. ok, this one's really hard to get into. but try:
Off Minor - Some Blood
I guess it's relatively accesible for Screamo. but you're probably better of starting with some Post Hardcore like Thrice or Frodus. |
Phantom
01.24.09 | I thought you 5's rating sdection was never going to end. Jeeeez...
Oh and this list is retarded. Like people have said, avoiding certains genres means you're missing out on some really fantastic artists/albums |
irishmanshibby
01.24.09 | pathetic |
Bfhurricane
01.24.09 | 8====D |

01.24.09 | is what I think of your ratings. |
SVIIB
01.26.09 | "even after giving their music a fair listen."
A great many of you seemed to have not read that part, so I write it again. I give all music, all artists, and all genres I come across a chance, and even after doing so, I don't love all of it. Even if I loved all the genres, people would still find things to complain about.
I put so many 5's because I enjoy listening to those albums. I didn't put those numbers because I think all of them are "classics". The ratings are more for my level of enjoyment rather than how time-stopping and "classic" they are.
It seems music has become less about enjoyment and more about argument.
Anyone can get angry. Try being happy for awhile. It's a lot better. :) |
Klekticist
04.12.09 | pop rock - bleh
pop - bleh
country - *runs to the nearest barf bag*
rap - idk. apparently you're missing out on a lot. not my cup of tea. i've found a hip-hop album tht i enjoy actually... burial's untrue
screamo - disagree entirely. great genre, great musicians. Off Minor's one of the more popular bands there, but i agree tht u should start off with some post-hardcore first. artist in the ambulance is THE introductory album to the entire genre |
masterofpuppets8
05.25.09 | nice list man |
kitsch
05.25.09 | why are you guys even wasting your breath with shit about saetia and off minor and orchid? the guys obv a tool and has no idea what screamo is.

05.25.09 | 4 - how come nobody has mentioned eminem? he would be the most obvious choice for getting someone into rap |
xNintendoCorex
05.25.09 | kitsch stfu.
there was probably a stage in your life where you liked shit music too.

TricksterGRex
05.25.09 | kitsch also thinks Against Me! made 3 classic albums, let alone an album that wasn't complete shit. |
kitsch
05.26.09 | i see it now nintendocore.

only time i listened to shit music was probably when i was like 9 or something but even though i had a smash mouth album i still loved the beatles and the clash.

xNintendoCorex
