My Isis Top 20
After constantly listening to them,I'm still hooked on to Isis...the following 20 Isis greats are a must-listen (according to me) and i'm sure according to every other Isis fan.And guys this is my first list,so in the very likely event of any bloopers, kindly overlook 'em :P :) Credits also to melvinratedr for having shared some ov the albums with me :) m/ |
1 | So Did We (Panopticon)
I initially dd not realise how great a song this was (Thanks to In Fiction) but now everytime i hear it,i get goose-bumps.The heaviest effort by Isis so far,in terms of complexity, the song catches your attention throughout. |
2 | In Fiction (Panopticon)
My all time favourite song...amazing song..amazing. |
3 | Threshold of Transformation (Wavering Radiant)
Simply classic,to say the least.Wavering Radiant,if not their best effort, still manages to reminisce the efforts of a truly great band. |
4 | Carry (Oceanic) & Weight (Oceanic)
My favourite songs of the album...epic stuff. |
5 | Celestial (Celestial)
Anyone who didnt headbang to this song??anyone?? |
6 | Hall of The Dead(Wavering Radiant)
My joint favourite song of WR.. :) |
7 | Wills Dissolve (Panopticon)
My favourite album, every song in it is great.Turner ftw in this 1,nice music in the end. |
8 | Holy Tears(ITAOT)
I'm not sure if others amy agree, but this is the best effort by Isis in the album. |
9 | The Beginning and the End (Oceanic)
Tremendous atmosphere-setter,my second favourite song after Carry. After that heavy and screamy start, the song mellows down beautifully and then progresses well too. |
10 | Ghost Key(wavering Radiant)
My second favourite song of this wonderful album. |
11 | Low Tide (In The Fishtank)
Although not their song completely(vocals provided by the aereogramme frontman Craig B),the song still rocks. |
12 | Gentle Time (Celestial)
One of the songs marking the transition of Isis from their "raw" music to their more composed and enigmatic present. |
13 | 20 mins/40 years (Wavering Radiant)
I know the isis hardcores gonna be mad at me at this, but there are so many greats that eventually i had no choice. |
14 | Dulcinea(ITAOT)
Awesome progression,nice lyrics.bass ftw as always. |
15 | Divine Mother (Signal>05)
Simply put,epic stuff. |
16 | Wrists of Kings (ITAOT)
Amazing start to the album and as the reviewer on sput aptly said,"For sixty minutes, it (ITAOT) always attempts to remain interesting and rarely fails, and that is a very unlikely feat for most any band, much less bands who craft such eclectic and thoughtful pieces of music". |
17 | False Light (Oceanic)
Awesome stuff,to say the least.Oceanic has to be my second favourite albums. |
18 | Smiles and Handshakes (Red Sea)
Easily my favourite song of the album. |
19 | Hive Destruction (Mosquito Control EP)
Of the early "raw"Isis as they were referred to..this song is a classic. |
20 | Signal>01 (Celestial)
This may sound funny, but signal>01 is an unorthodox start and rather catchy too..finely paves the way for one of my favourite songs, which is surely comin in my top 5 |
