ThusSpokeZarathustra 06.29.09	I mostly listen to old bands but try checking out: Merciless Death – Evil in the Night Desaster – Angelwhore (black/thrash) Victimizer – Unholy Banners of Victimizer Toxic Holocaust – Hell On Earth Not purely thrash but everything from Destroyer 666 and Gosepl of the Horns is gold as well. Also, ‘Roots’ is a mallcore album, try checking out Sep’s first 3 albums (‘Arise’ is decent too, but overrated).

I suppose the same kind of thing could probably be said about albums like Kreator’s “Pleasure To Kill” and Sodom’s “Persecution Mania” which also have some proto-death elements. Different strokes for different folks though I guess, personally I can’t listen to any modern thrash that has metalcore elements in it.
