Is that a lot for one year?

eternium 01.28.10	No country has the right to go into another country and completely remake its government how it wants. The Iraqis sure as hell don't think that we helped. If they hated Saddam so much, as I'm sure they did, they would be doing what Iran is right now. To the saving lives thing, more Iraqis would die if we suddenly left before they had control. Far less U.S. soldiers have died compared to before and within a few months, there will be none. I believe that sixteen months was the timeline and it's been about a year.
eternium 01.28.10	You haven't been paying much attention. Republicans have refused to compromise and have said no to EVERY major bill. There were three that did vote for the stimulus package, which were the only moderates left in the extremely conservative party. I'm not a Democrat, I hate both parties, but I REALLY hate conservatism. Look at health care. It started out as Medicare for all. Then it became a public option. Then it became Medicare for 55+. Then that got thrown out and Republicans still refuse to vote. Who has been compromising here?

The founders knew that the system they set up was a damn good one and they made it so it was near impossible to pass something. But when compared to thousands of dollars that very few people can actually afford, businesses that are dropping coverage of their employees because of cost, the fact that more and more people lose coverage every day and DIE as a result, it basically is free compared to paying a little more in taxes. After FDR established a lot of government regulation, there was no crash until after many of those policies were eliminated in the name of GOVERNMENT IS BAD. Lassiez-faire does not work.

Great Depression ended in 1939. U.S. entered the war in 1941. If you look at the history of the Great Depression, you would see that everything was improving greatly when FDR was in power. You would also know that the lassiez-faire policies of the '20s, by the Republican presidents, caused it. Boom/bust.

They were technically under the monarchy, but realistically they were laissez-faire because they were left to govern themselves and were far more succesful for it prior to the revolution.
