Favorite Bass Players (bands Added)

Not in any particular order. Just some of my particular favorites.
1Red Hot Chili Peppers

Without Flea, we would not have the Peppers. Flea reminds me of Who
bassist John Entwistle simply because of how much sound he is responsible
for.
2The Who

John Entwistle; The Who have been quoted as saying that replacing his
sound almost takes an entire orchestra. Not to mention his bass playing
was revolutionary and set the groundwork for great bassists to come.
3Metallica

Cliff Burton; his bass solo before For Whom the Bell Tolls is legendary.
Replacing him was possibly the hardest thing for Metallica to accomplish
(other than recover from St Anger).
4Megadeth

David Ellefson; A 5 string bass player who uses a pick, not of the norm to
say the least. His intro to Peace Sells and bass work on other Megadeth
albums are truly inspiring.
5Iron Maiden

Steve Harris; Possibly the fastest moving fingers in metal. Watching him
play Aces High is quite a spectacle.
6Bela Flec and the Flectones

Victor Wooten; enough said. The only bass player to win bass player of the
year multiple times (received it three times I believe).
7Primus

Les Claypool; Tried out for Metallica, can play the Master of Puppets guitar
part slapin' it. John the Fisherman and Jerry was a Race Car Driver set Les
apart from the rest.
8Mudvayne

Ryan Martinie; without him, there would not be the Mudvayne dubbed
"math metal" as we know it. Is quietly one of the top bass players in the
world.
