Presenting... 2009.

Or my favourite albums from 2009 so far. Oh yes. Fascinating. Recommending me anything I might have missed would be very cool too.
1Dance Gavin Dance
Happiness

I'm pretty much a huge fanboy when it comes to DGD and this album pretty much rules in my eyes (or ears, I guess). It's catchy as balls and so goddamn funky, I love it.
2Propagandhi
Supporting Caste

Awesome instrumentality and balls out aggression, with catchiness to boot. Awesome.
3Poison The Well
The Tropic Rot

Unlike what seems like the majority I was a huge fan of PTW's last album Versions and with The Tropic Rot they only improved on that, really good stuff.
4Mono
Hymn To The Immortal Wind

This has kind of grown off me a bit since I first heard it, but it's still pretty damn good post-rock as I'm sure most of you are aware.
5And So I Watch You From Afar
And So I Watch You From Afar

Cool album is cool, post-rock with almost mathy guitar lines over the top. Nice.
6Closure In Moscow
First Temple

Bombastic post-hardcore-ish stuff. It's full of energy and I love that, even if it's a bit, well, I'm not sure what I was going to say there. Whatever, I like it.
7The Dear Hunter
Act III: Life and Death

The next act of Casey's ambitious project, Act III builds on everything from Act II and is just a great listen.

It's all crazy it's all ugh I'm not even gonna bother it's not like the cover's gonna show up

I was kind of disappointed with this on first listen, but it's grown on me considerably. Still not quite as good as past releases though in my opinion.
9Castevet
Summer Fences

Light hearted indie/emo that reminds me of American Football except if the vocals were gruff and masculine. Really cool.
10Coalesce
Ox

Awesome comeback album after 10 years of nothing from these guys, good metalcore.
11Emery
...In Shallow Seas We Sail

This album came as a bit of a surprise to me, I went into it expecting not to enjoy it, but on the contrary it's pretty damn good, really enjoyable listen.
12So Many Dynamos
The Loud Wars

Really cool indie stuff, not quite as good as the album before this(Flashlights) in my opinion, but still a really fun listen all the same.
13Spires
Flowers and Fireworks

Post-rocky screamo stuff. I'm a sucker for stuff like this. Really cool listen, although still remains in the shadow of Mesa Verde's release last year.
14Trophy Scars
Bad Luck

Another progression from the likes of Trophy Scars, just a really enjoyable album, the vocals are a bit iffy at times but it's no big deal.
15The Number Twelve Looks Like You
Worse Than Alone

A step forward from all their previous efforts (in my opinion anyway), TNTLLY take a more rhythmic approach to their.. genre, and it's pretty damn cool. Like this a lot.
16My Heart To Joy
Seasons In Verse

More indie/emo similar to Algernon Cadwallader, just an enjoyable listen.
17The Mars Volta
Octahedron

Not really sure whether to be disappointed in this or not, eh, The Mars Volta gone soft, I quite like each song individually but I can't really listen through a whole album of soft TMV songs.
18Consider The Thief
Signs and Wonders

This album sounds an awful lot like Thrice at times (which is, of course, a good thing) and as a result is a pretty cool listen. Mhm.
19Bomb The Music Industry!
Scrambles

Happy ska/punk for FREE. Yay! Really enjoyable listen, probably should be a bit higher up on this list.
20The Syncope Threshold
Tale of the Complex Circuit

Technical metalcore stuff with pop punk bits. Yeah pretty cool, even if the pop punk bits are a bit, well, whiny? They're not that bad, I really enjoy listening to this.
