| The Definitive Top Five Power Metal Bands
People everywhere flame power metal for being too flamboyant, faggoty, or just gay....which it's not. The only thing that irritates me about that is that I have never bashed the precious genres of Black Metal, Death Metal, or the OMG CAN'T GO THERE Indie! Yes this band is better than every other power metal band (or band for that matter.) Although they only have two albums, which were written around a ten year period (not 3-4 Zoo) they express the best that the genre has to offer. Respectable drums, catchy as hell guitars, and a bassist that actually brings something to the table gives Lost Horizon the ingredients to be the best. Also I don't want anyone to ever tell me that the vocals aren't good because you are clearly and utterly wrong. | | 2 | Nightwish

OMG THIS IS THE ONLY POWER METAL BAND WORTH LISTENING TO!!! No they aren't so shut up. Their best album is A Night At The Opera which is more bombastic/symphonic than anything, and Nightfall In Middle Earth is overrated. They still rule though | | 5 | Rhapsody OF FIRE!!!!

02.24.10 | The point I was making regarding their consistency is not the length of time between albums nor the amount of time it took to put together those albums. My argument is still this: they need more material, it's that simple. They need to make more music to prove that they're incapable of producing mediocre or, otherwise, less-than-satisfying albums not up to the standards of their first two.
If you judge a band by their best work alone, of course it'll be easy to argue that they're one of, if not, the best.
Even with that said, they're still my third favorite power metal band, behind Kamelot and BG. RoF may be cheesy, but anything with Gus G cannot suck. | Athom

I really blame Daniel Heiman for this and I am hoping that within the next two years they finally release something new. Btw, Gus G is in Firewind, Luca Turilli is ROF.
As for the other bands. Falconer just plain sucks and I get bored with Helloween and Symphony X at times.
