Poet's Songs Of 2012

This year was worse than the previous one in terms of music for me. From doing my senior rrproject to graduating college and then immediately starting grad school, my year was extremely rrbusy. I did not have the time to listen to as much music as I hoped, but there were some great rrsongs to come out this year.
10Dragonforce
The Power Within

Die By the Sword-yeah Dragonforce is on this list. But seriously, I was not
expecting anything like this from the band anymore. Who knew that the band just
needed to add Andre Olbrich's guitar sound to their songs to make them sound
awesome again.
9Firewind
Few Against Many

No Heroes No Sinners-looks like the band can actually make a mediocre record.
However this song is among the band's best work
8Kamelot
Silverthorn

Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)-New singer fills in for Roy Khan nicely. Add infectious
Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz and Kamelot makes its best song in a long time.
7Lavett
Find Your Purpose

Forgotten Generation-Generic rock album, but it is Daniel Heiman singing on this
thing. Never reaches the greatness of the past, but this song is actually good and
the performance by the entire band is at its best.
6Sabaton
Carolus Rex

En Livstid i Krig-A Lifetime of War for the regular English edition, but the natural
Swedish version is infinitely better. More emotion, better lyrics, and an overall
better execution
5Converge
All We Love We Leave Behind

Coral Blue-best Converge song since Farewell Note to this City
4 Diablo Swing Orchestra
Pandora's Pinata

Honey Trap Aftermath-Best basswork on any song I have heard this year.
3Mono
For My Parents

Legend-Post Rock's best band keeps on trucking along and makes another
emotional somberfest
2Ke$ha
Warrior

Die Young-I have been praising Lady Gaga a few years now for releasing the best
pop song of the past 15 years in Bad Romance. Now Ke$ha has to go screw that up
by giving the world Die Young. It's catchy to a fault and written/performed
wonderfully
1Wintersun
Time I

Sons of Winter and Stars-There was nothing even close to this song this year. This
overblown song just screams me in every possible way.
