11.22.19 | depending on what you're going for, i would look towards (yes, this is an unironic statement) check films from A24 mainly, especially Hereditary because imho that's the best modern horror has to offer (at least this decade), also if you wanna do any casting idgaf i'll audition, sounds fun |

11.22.19 | As few jumpscares as possible
Do you have some work out there now we can admire? |

11.22.19 | ^^^ exactly why i recommended Hereditary. i mean, It Follows does a pretty good job avoiding jumpscares as well, creating an effective horror experience so just go for some of the more tasteful side of horror imo |

11.22.19 | I also loved Hereditary. In terms of jump scares I'm definitely not going to overkill with that. I've been a horror nerd since I was a kid and my mainstay is 70's and 80's horror and while that was there it wasn't prominent. I'm going for a more ominous, foreboding vibe with this first one I'm tackling. I'd actually started it years ago under the title "The House That Breathes" and was about halfway through when my computer crashed. I'm pretty critical of the stuff I do so I don't have anything out there but in the process of writing this I'm going to try to make a short film with a full script and put it out there. Got about 8 ideas I'm going to attempt over time. Some ominous some more cheese filled and fast paced |

11.22.19 | Check out a film called Spring. Kind of a sci-fi vibe but still has horror elements. |

11.22.19 | I liked It Follows when I saw it in theaters blindly but haven't revisited it since. I remember hearing about Spring when it came out but can't recall if I watched it or not |

11.22.19 | I would be more than happy to read anything you write to critique it. My best suggestion is allow dread to permeate through your script. Imo a horror movie is only effective when you are in this constantly state of waiting for something to happen, on the edge of your seat. |
