What Wave Are You?

I've always wondered why I have such a hard time liking new music trends. I mean, things like djent and deathcore. I can still listen to a couple of bands in those genres, but it's like the whole movement means a lot to me. Oddly enough, my favorite bands all had their best moments in one particular piece of time: late 90's - early 00' (it probably helps that I was born in the early 90's). So this metalcore/post-hardcore movement had a copious amount of influence on me, to the point where it defines my personality. So I imagine that time as the "late 90's - early 00's core wave". And I'm pretty sure all of you guys have some idea of what your "wave" was, which I'd be more than happy to hear. Cheers!
