My Name is George.

Today marks my four-year anniversary as a Spuntikmusic member. As of 2:00 p.m. CDST, there are 147 albums that I own due directly to Sputnik; here are the top 40 of them, ranked in order of HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO ME (not necessarily by how good they are). Also, random blurbs and shout-outs to people and things.
1Porcupine Tree
In Absentia

PT is the band I am most grateful to Sputnik for getting me into; probably my second-favorite band today (after Bad Religion).
2Mew
Frengers

TINYCHAT changed the way I interact with people on Sputnik. Now Sputnik isn't just confined to this website; now I've got people on Facebook and SKYPE even. Don't know how that happened, but it made this site very "real."
3Sigur Ros
( )

I always kinda thought that those "Best Users" lists were slightly...I don't know, cheesy? Having talked to some people outside of Sputnik, though, and getting to know them beyond just their music tastes, have made me think otherwise. So...here are some randomly cool Sputnikfolk (in ABC order by username, and not limited to simply TinyChat or Facebook users):
4My Bloody Valentine
Loveless

Aids
5Neutral Milk Hotel
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

AnotherBrick (fellow prog-man, and person who told me to get #8, for which I am eternally grateful)
6A Tribe Called Quest
Midnight Marauders

BallsToTheWall
7Descendents
Milo Goes To College

Banion (Nevermind that she's female, she's just really damn cool)
8Devin Townsend Project
Addicted

ConsiderPhlebas
9John Frusciante
The Empyrean

Curseworship
10Dredg
Catch Without Arms

(I listen to this album more than I listen to 'El Cielo')
11 Raekwon
Only Built 4 Cuban Lynx... Pt II

Deviant
12Japandroids
Post-Nothing

Emim
13At The Drive-In
Relationship of Command

foreverendeared (who listens to a lot of the same music I do, according to Last.fm)
14Muse
Origin of Symmetry

John Muh-Fuhkin' Hanson (whose first name, last name and screename all fit right here alphabetically)
15Brand New
Daisy

Kimmsightmatters (who gets way too much hate)
16Lupe Fiasco
Food & Liquor

Maniac! (who...who...actually, I don't know why he's here. Must've been a computer error)
17Pharoahe Monch
Desire

Pillowwantsyoursoul (who got me into two albums on this list)
18Failure
Fantastic Planet

Samshine
19Cynic
Traced In Air

Satellite (fellow Bad Religion-ite)
20Dream Theater
Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory

Scoot
21Sleep Parade
Things Can Always Change

SeaAnemone
22Catherine Wheel
Chrome

SonicSpeed500 (another fellow Bad Religion-ite)
23Jeff Buckley
Grace

SowingSeason
24NOFX
The Decline

STOOOOOOOOOOKES!
25MF Doom
MM.. Food

Taxidermist
26Cocteau Twins
Heaven Or Las Vegas

thebhoy (one of the most intelligent people on this site, absolutely)
27Arcade Fire
Funeral

UhhKris
28Coldplay
Viva La Vida

Waior (the first person on Sputnik who I was friends with on FB, and the first person on Sputnik whose music I genuinely enjoyed)
29Anchor & Braille
Felt

Winsomniac
30 The Gaslight Anthem
The '59 Sound

I probably forgot some people; I hope you'll forgive me...the point of the list wasn't to exclude, but to say WHAT UP to those who might care ;-)
31Radiohead
OK Computer

While I'm at it, a personal shout-out to the TinyChat crew: Aids-Ban-Curse-John-Pillows-Pizza-Other Pizza-Sam-Scoot-Stokes-Tax-Win. You people make the risk of seeing Blockhead on Tinychat worth it ;-).
32Minus The Bear
Planet of Ice

Quick question: am I anyone's neighbor? I know it's a broken system, but I'm just curious...
33Hammock
Raising Your Voice... Trying To Stop An Echo

One of the best sleeps I can remember happened as a result of listening to this album.
34Caleb McAlpine
Science Fiction

(I still listen to this album)
35Black Star
Black Star

The Aperture Science Center would like to remind you that at the conclusion of testing, you will be baked, and then there will be cake.
36Explosions In the Sky
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

Be on the lookout for the fifth volume of 'Masochist's Favorite Moments In Music' list. It'll be coming up here soon.
37The Angelic Process
Weighing Souls With Sand

(I listened to this because of TinyChat. It's epic, and I mean that in it's real definition.)
38 DJ Shadow
Endtroducing...

I just started listening to this, and it's already in the top 40. I want it on vinyl.
39Jonsi
Go

Most wanted vinyls: Bob Dylan - 'Bringing It All Back Home', Sigur Ros - '( )', DJ Shadow - 'Endtroducing...', Cocteau Twins - 'Heaven or Las Vegas', John Frusciante - 'The Empyrean', Simon and Garfunkel - 'Bookends', BT - 'This Binary Universe'
40Amia Venera Landscape
The Long Procession

Remember...this is just the TOP 40 out of 147 albums Sputnik sent my way. So yeah, you're at the bottom, but it's not really the bottom. Anyways...thanks for sucking four years out of my life, Sputnik. I appreciate all the music you've given, and the friends and such. Though the racism kinda sucks. And the anti-Christian attitude. But eh...it's worth it ;-).
