10 Years On The Sput (A Decade of Music)

10 years ago today I made this profile on this forum. Met a couple cool folks, trolled a lot of threads, even got made contributor at one time! Mostly, though, I have this place to thank for essentially cultivating my love for music. I've been introduced to numerous bands, young and old, that I never would've heard of anywhere else. The usual Sput bands (ie. Neutral Milk, Radiohead, Converge, etc.), to the underground hardcore reviews me and fromtheinside would crank out weekly back in the day, and all the other numerous lists I've bookmarked throughout the years. Today, when friends look at my record collection they usually barely even know any of them, but I have a feeling most of the user base here would recognize nearly all of them... specially those who have stuck with this place for as long as I have. Anyways, a whole decade on this site, so here's a list of 10 albums I've discovered since then that are kinda awesome.
1As Cities Burn
Come Now Sleep

2007. Took me a long time for this album to click but once it did it has become one of my favorite albums of all time.
2Cursed
III: Architects of Troubled Sleep

2008. The final Cursed album. II will always hold a special place in my heart but after multiple listens this album has now surpassed it.
3Om
God Is Good

2009. First Om album I listened to. The album artwork drew me in, the music was unlike anything I had heard at the time.
4More Than Life
Love Let Me Go

2010. My boy craigy2 didn't care of this album as much as I did but, at the time, this was the best hardcore album since Modern Life Is War's Witness.
5Nujabes
Spiritual State

2011. There still hasn't been another one like him. RIP Jun Seba
6BADBADNOTGOOD
BBNG2

2012. I honestly think they started going downhill after this album but I'm proud to have been on these guys since the early demo days.
7Ghostface Killah
Twelve Reasons to Die

2013. Old school Wu-Tanger meets Quentin Tarantino banger.
8Full of Hell and Merzbow
Full of Hell and Merzbow

2014. A true collaboration. A perfect blend of hardcore, grind, death metal, power electronics, and noise to create a beautiful cacaphonous symphony of aggression.
9Cult Leader
Lightless Walk

2015. Yes, Gaza was a good band, but where the fuck had this been hiding? Truly ironic that it took an awful situation, the forceful expulsion of a member, and the total reconstruction of a band for a group to find their true sound.
10Sex Prisoner
Tannhauser Gate

2016. I'd review this if I wasn't such an inactive lurker. Rasputin and hep kat would probably hate it.
11The xx
I See You

2017. Haven't listened to a lot of new stuff this year but this is top so far... hopin that new Loss joint can take this.
