So Much CD Rippage
Lots of CDs on my desk right now as my slow computer tries to
import them all. Some of them I bought, some of them Josh lent me.
Some I've listened to already, some I haven't. Anyway here's what
I'm ripping. |
1 | | The Blood Brothers Burn Piano Island, Burn
1-7 I bought. I had always heard these guys were good, liking it so far. |
2 | | Wilco Wilco (The Album)
Cool cover. I'm not sure if these guys are my thing or not but we'll see. |
3 | | Radiohead Hail To The Thief
Their last album other than Pablo Honey I hadn't heard. I thought it was
going to be their worst, but I quite liked it. It's not Kid A but it's damn
awesome anyway. |
4 | | Matthew Good Band In A Coma: 1995-2005
I remember growing up liking the songs of his I heard but never had any
albums, so I bought this. |
5 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries
I just listened to this and I think it's probably my favourite Opeth album
(I've heard BWP, Still Life, and Watershed). Very very good but not boring
like some of Watershed. |
6 | | Elliott Smith Either/Or
Finally caved to the hype. |
7 | | Christopher Arruda God Hates A Coward
A local artist (Nanaimo, BC) who I'm having a hell of a time uploading album
artwork and artist information for. I saw him at a music festival in Nanaimo
with Thrice and Protest the Hero etc. and he used to be in a couple other
good local bands as well. I'll listen to this and review it probably seeing
nobody has heard it (on here anyway). |
8 | | Silversun Pickups Pikul
8-20 On this list were borrowed from a friend. This is an EP and I like both
their LPs so should be good. |
9 | | Discovery LP
Josh: "Well I mean it's good, so you should borrow it, but I mean I only
gave it a 3 so...." Haha, I'm apprehensive about something Josh gives a 3
to.... |
10 | | St. Vincent Actor
Sweet. I'm loving female vocalists lately. |
11 | | Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra He Has Left Us Alone...
I've been loving Godspeed lately but there's only so much you can listen to
until you have to turn to their numerous side projects. This album is really
good. |
12 | | Tortoise TNT
Jaga Jazzist said they were an influence and I love love LOVE Jaga Jazzist
so I borrowed this. I see the resemblance to Jaga Jazzist. Awesome,
awesome album. |
13 | | Set Fire To Flames Sings Reign Rebuilder
Another GY!BE side project. I like this album less than the Silver Mt. Zion
one but it's still good. |
14 | | Owls Owls
Josh loves Cap'n Jazz (and all his affiliates) apparently and he's been all
over the sputnik news so I borrowed the first Cap'n Jazz related album I
could find to start the journey. |
15 | | Yeah Yeah Yeahs Show Your Bones
I can't get enough of It's Blitz! right now. This isn't as good, but I still love
the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. |
16 | | Do Make Say Think Other Truths
One of my "Oops I missed it in '09" albums. |
17 | | Bat For Lashes Two Suns
See 16 |
18 | | Sigur Ros Untitled 1 EP
Josh's first review on this site. An obscure Sigur Ros EP, of course haha. |
19 | | The Gaslight Anthem The '59 Sound
Wanted to see what all the hub-bub was about. |
20 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Irony is a Dead Scene
I forgot to put this one in the "CDs I bought" section. Whatever, I'm seeing
these guys April 9th. Calculating Infinity rocks and Miss Machine destroys.
I can't wait for their new one. |
