Aids 01.11.15	Ire - I was actually initially disappointed with it. It never threatened to be #1, Mt Zion locked that up very early on. I grew to love RTJ2 obviously but it's far from perfect. I want them to make a more serious and focussed album, but I'm ok with their current "fun" style. Also I've gotten over caring what you guys think about the music I listen to. If I wanted to put it #1 I would have. Klap - their set at Sasquatch this summer as I was coming down from mushrooms was life-affirming. I spent the better part of the day thinking having shockingly negative thoughts, but Phantogram brought me back. That set was so good I think I cried. I don't think the album is ~objectively~ amazing or anything, it just meant a lot to my friends and me this year, like....a lot. Without that experience it probably would have been somewhere around 25.
lre 01.11.15	@aids to be terribly honest i accidentally downloaded RTJ1 when 2 came out and listened to it for the first time since it came out (obviously not remembering it) thinking it was 2. And I was like wow this is actually pretty tight! Then I figured it out and yeah guess RTJ1 is a lot better than I initially thought. Listened to RTJ2 right after and agree its not as good as 1 but the last 3 tracks go real fuckin hard. Over all its still a fun album. BTW this is Potsy not Ire

Aids 01.11.15	you took over Ramy's account? weird. either way, that's dope. kind of funny that you made that mistake but I could see that happening to a non-fan. Phantogram played Vancouver in December but it was like $50 I think, and sold out really quickly. Seeing them at a festival is the way to go.
lre 01.11.15	yeah well i literally listened to RTJ1 once and was like BLEH WHATEVER being all biased towards el-p's old stuff so I had literally no recollection of the album minus like one song that sounded awfully familiar which i chalked up to having listened to as a single at some point before the album got released haha. And this isnt ire's actual account, Lordepots got banned and i just made a new account with a lowercase 'L' instead of an 'I' so it looks like its Ire. phant played vic in december too, it was 30 but thats expensive for here and it was at sugar and i really hate that place, always over packed, so i decided to save the dough.
Aids 01.11.15	hahahahaha that's so funny I saw your comment on that Snowday thread and was like hmmm this doesn't seem like Ramy's jam at all, but now it makes so much sense. Sugar sucks ugh. Victoria's so great but they need better venues. That's a big reason I like Rifflandia so much.
lre 01.11.15	haha yeah. it was especially funny for me cuz i hated on rtj so hard when it came out and then that happened and i had one of those "well... if you cant laugh at yourself" moments. so ive lightened up on rtj hard. and yeah man sugar is the worst of the worst but there arent a lot of good venues here. and even the decent ones are far too small, like lucky.
