Kiran
01.19.09 | dillinger four - civil war
the loved ones - build and burn
moving mountains - foreword EP
the hold steady - boys and girls in america
first 2 are solid punk albums, moving mountains is a really tight post-rock influenced band, lots of emotion etc etc, the hold steady is springsteen influenced punk/rock n fucking roll |
Kiran
01.19.09 | also, if youre into lydia, you might like straylight run - self titled |

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary |
StreetlightRock
01.19.09 | Most of the great stuff has been covered, but because I hate you and want to you to destory your internet:
Lifetime - Jersey's Best Dancers
The Lawrence Arms - Oh! Calcutta!
Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb
Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity
Gonna also double up on the Say Anything, Get Up Kids, Saves The Day and Dillinger Four recommendations. Probably best to go with those before my own recs. And yeah, SDRE's Diary. |
Mendigo
01.19.09 | what everyone here says.
I'd add the following, if you don't have them already:
NoMeansNo - Wrong
Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime
Off Minor - The Heat Death of the Universe
Off Minor - Some Blood
Frodus - We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea
Fugazi - The Argument
Hüsker Dü - Zen Arcade
Verse En Coma - Rialto |
foreverendeared
01.19.09 | well if you like Lydia, you're going to like Copeland. I say start delving into Indie, because it's an easy transition from pop-punk |
Yotimi
01.19.09 | Redsky makes some good suggestions. I strongly second:
Say Anything - Is A Real Boy
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over the Sea
Saves the Day - Stay What You Are (my favorite pop/punk album ever)
Definitely check out Sunny Day Real Estate. Diary was recommended, but I prefer How It Feels To Be Something On - one of the most emotional albums I've ever heard (sounds completely different from Diary btw)
And add The Early November's first album and EP. (The Room is Too Cold and For All Of This) |
