10 Great Australian Records

this list was mostly made out of annoyance. i keep seeing lists of 'great aussie bands' and its usually filled to the brim with crap. so heres a list of some less well known australian bands, but bands with actual talent.
1A Secret Death
A Secret Death

Blistering mix of post-hardcore/metalcore and all round awesomeness. Solid album that flows brilliantly from start to end
2My Disco
Paradise

Great shift in sound from their initial form as an eclectic skramz band. Paradise showcases their focus on minimalism, with still a very noisy sound for a 3 piece
3The Rivalry
No Face For the Mentor

One of the finest australian metalcore releases, verging on progressive, the dual vocal attack never lets up on this killer full length.
4James Dean
James Dean CDR

Rather short lived post-punk/screamo band from newcastle. Great sound with rather technical compositions.
5Luca Brasi
Clouds, Light Years Away

Melbourne based band mixing up skramz grind and metalcore in a good way. A very tough and noisy sound that rarely lets up
6 Sleeping in Trains
The Fisherman EP

Sleeping in Trains were a post punk/indie band from brisbane, gaining a strong following for their catchy melodies and remarkable live show.
7 Robotosaurus
Sayra Bahk Volume 1: Last Refuge Of The Exiled Man

Well executed grindcore featuring ex members of love like....electrocution, the rivalry, donkey kong and about a million other bands
8Robotosaurus
Sayra Bahk Volume 2: Trifornais

The second installement of the 2 ep series shows a new side of robotosaurus, with the addition of long sludgy sections to contrast with the 10minute grindfest that is the first ep
9Coma Lies
A Churchwell Killing

A hardworking tech metal/ambient band, with the ability to craft songs that flow from thrashy chaos right down to a soothing melody, theres a bright future ahead for these guys
10Closure in Moscow
The Penance and the Patience
