Everything 2010

Top 20 of the year. I really didn't go out of my way to listen to too much from this year but overall it was still pretty enjoyable, especially the top 7 or so.
20The Ocean
Anthropocentric
19How to Dress Well
Love Remains
18The State Lottery
When the Night Comes
17Winterfylleth
The Mercian Sphere
16Sufjan Stevens
The Age of Adz
15Fang Island
Fang Island
14The Gaslight Anthem
American Slang
13Coheed and Cambria
Year of the Black Rainbow
12Agalloch
Marrow of the Spirit
1165daysofstatic
We Were Exploding Anyway
10Rosetta
A Determinism of Morality

This took a little growing on me too but after a while I saw how good this was. The last two tracks really make this a top 10 release for me.
9The Sword
Warp Riders

A heavy metal space opera with an album cover that looks like the cover of a science fiction novel, how can I resist.
8 Buckethead
Captain Eo's Voyage

This might be my favorite Buckthead album (and there are a lot of them). It's a more mellow album in the vein of Colma or Electric Tears but it's pulled off to perfection.
7Alcest
Ecailles De Lune

Another beautiful release from Neige.
6The Tallest Man on Earth
The Wild Hunt

I played the crap out of this when it first came out and only recently listened to it again only to fall in love with it all over again. One of the great singer-songwriters of our time.
5The Flashbulb
Arboreal

I may actually enjoy this more than A Soundtrack to a Vacant Life.
4The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

What can really be said, it's pretty much genious and at the time it came out was my favorite of the year. It may have slid a bit but that shouldn't take anything away from its greatness.
3Arcade Fire
The Suburbs

Unlike their first two albums, which I immediately loved, this one took a little time to grown on me. After giving it some time though I soon realized there isn't a bad song here.
2Deftones
Diamond Eyes

I've decidedt this is their best. It is the perfect balance of their heavy and atmospheric sounds.
1Titus Andronicus
The Monitor

An honest, raw, powerful album that became my soundtrack to many a drunken night.
