| Saw Fucked Up And Wavves Last Night
Great show, although I was hoping that Fucked Up was going to open so that I could skip Wavves and get on the road for my 90-minute drive back to school and not sleep through my 9:30 class. Still, Wavves were entertaining and Fucked Up were great as expected, despite my inability to make out most of what Pink Eyes was shouting. He came down and gave everyone hugs after the show, and took a picture with a friend of mine who beat cancer last week. 09.29.11 | Wavves felt like they were playing the same song over and over again, and it was slightly above average. There was also a really funny difference between the Wavves crowd and the Fucked Up crowd. I figured the FU pit would be full of indie kids unsure of what to do with themselves, but a lot of them left and were replaced by hardcore guys who went nuts. The opening band was also very clearly big on 80s hardcore, so Wavves were just really out of place in general. | Satellite

09.29.11 | Also Pink Eyes is probably the most genuine frontman I have ever seen. He stuck the mic in the crowd during every song, walked through it early in the set, gave disgusting sweaty hugs to everyone who came up to him, talked about longtime fans that he recognized at the show, and posed for pictures with anyone who asked. He is a fucking awesome dude. |
