Lollapalooza Day 3 Review

Day 3 was blisteringly hot, then frozen by the rain, then just fucking muddy. But there were some damn fine shows. "MOTHERFUCKING FOOOOOOOO FIGHTERRRRRRS!!!" - Perry Farrell
1Titus Andronicus

If there was one song I was looking forward to seeing for all of Lollapalooza, it was A More Perfect. To be honest it wasn't all that I imagined, probably because it was early and much of the crowd didn't really know them. Still, Titus put on a solid set, including a nice jam on Titus Andronicus Forever and a magnificent closer of Four Score and Seven
2Flogging Molly

Everybody seemed to find themselves dancing to this one. I had never listened to Flogging Molly before but they played a highly enjoyable hour that it was impossible not to smile during. Setlist in the first comment.
3Nas & Damian Marley

So I was sitting on the lawn half-listening to Cage the Elephant's set on the Playstation stage when this ominous cloud loomed over Grant Park. It started to rain, and I moved to the pavement. Then it fucking poured. And it was cold. While the crowd cheered for the refreshment from a scorching sun, it was too much after a while, and also delayed Nas & Jr. Gong by five minutes. It started to clear up when they came out after an instrumental jam to play As We Enter, which rocked. Following that, they played Nah Mean and then three Nas solo songs--Represent, Hip-Hop is Dead and If I Ruled the World (using the intro of Street Dreams). Then they played Leaders and a killer version of Dispear. After Dispear I took off to get food and see Explosions in the Sky.
4Explosions in the Sky

Sadly the rain delayed Arctic Monkeys on the Music Unlimited stage by 35 minutes, and they played until 7:15, giving Explosions 45 minutes to do their thing. They put plenty of heart into their 5-song set, and the crowd received them warmly despite being out of place and playing right before a big headliner. Foo Fighters even started as their final song was ending, and I had left to get a good spot after they played Let Me Back In. Glad I got to see them at least. Setlist in first comment.
5Foo Fighters

This performance was absolutely amazing. The perfect cap to a great festival. I got a good spot near the back of the sound tent, which gave me a good view of the stage and the screen. A few songs in it started pouring again, which led to the most amazing concert moment of my life, standing in the middle of it and singing along to My Hero. They just put on a great show all around, although after the rain subsided it had less of that epic moment factor. Setlist below
6I miscalculated the amount of bands I saw

But I guess I overheard City and Colour and Cage the Elephant.
