Atlanta Listening
Albums I listened to when I was not drunk in Atlanta, which was not very often judging by the lack of records. Party. |
1 | | The Mars Volta De-loused in the Comatorium
The Mars Volta is a band I never really checked out. Extremely glad that I did. I was told by a co-worker this record was a good place to start. Thus far I was incredibly intrigued. |
2 | | Senses Fail Still Searching
When I heard Let It Unfold You I was a bit disappointed. Than this came out and their improvements were overwhelming. This record gets better every listen and I have really fallen in love with it. |
3 | | Atreyu Lead Sails Paper Anchor
Definitely an improvement on their past work. I'm really glad they switched their sound up because it works plenty on this record. Should be reviewing it soon. |
4 | | Godspeed You! Black Emperor F# A# ?
I did what everyone told me to do with this for a first listen; find a time when you have nothing to do, lay down in bed, put some headphones on and crank it to a comfortable level. This was just an awesome listen. Me spine tingling twas a treat! A truly great disc which I was missing out on. |
5 | | The Dangerous Summer If You Could Only Keep Me Alive
I really hope these guys don't break up, that's all I really have to say. Hometown favorites #2. |
6 | | Paramore Riot!
Well my good friend got two free tickets to their show in Baltimore Friday night and I was beyond bummed when I found I would be in the south on that day. So this is how I cured my misery. |
7 | | The Starting Line Direction
Had never really listened to more than 2 tracks off of this. The single is pretty neat. Overall though, this disc is nothing phenomenal that's for sure. |
8 | | The Devil Wears Prada Plagues
Flame me all you want, this record is getting a positive review from me very soon. I'm really starting to dig their sound on this album. They also are one of the best live shows I've ever seen in my life (saw them last Sunday) and that always seems to make you understand a band better. Maybe it's just me... |
9 | | Drama For The Masses Last Chance For First Impressions
Ah my favorite unsigned act from Long Island. Can't wait for their new record, they have started playing new tracks from it live and have a new singer so should be exciting. Until than, this was an adequate fix. |
10 | | Chiodos Bone Palace Ballet
While I saw these guys live last Sunday (headlining with 8) for the third time, it was the first time that I actually watched their show. Boy am I glad I choose the balcony over the pit. This record just seems to get better every time I listen to it. There is so much more consistency in quality, variety in sounds, and just overall substance than on their debut. This is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorites of the year. /trip |
