03.11.22 | Maybe if I do two? m/ m/ |
Trifolium
03.11.22 | Hi Stormy! I don't know In Flames but I'm heeeeere 💕🌈 |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Yay! Thread can now be considered successful! 🥰 |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | It is very weird you don’t know In Flames considering the other metal you like |
Trifolium
03.11.22 | I know. My real metal phase was mostly during my teens, and I never checked them back then. I have tried some of their earlier stuff later on, but they never really clicked. The metal I listen to nowadays mostly is from bands I already loved 10-20 years ago... 😮 |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Are you implying you aren’t a young spring wild Trifolium? If you ever do try then try the Soundtrack To Your Escape and Come Clarity albums! |
Trifolium
03.11.22 | No no no I'm speaking about my annual incarnations all added up into one cross-individual being. Sorry, my bad, probably needed to clarify that beforehand.
Will do if I ever get to them! |
MonumentsOfParalysis
03.11.22 | Honestly this is a brilliant idea, and I'm going to throw this into a playlist to try it out! |
MonumentsOfParalysis
03.11.22 | I would have gone with an album title like "Sense of a Purpose Fading" |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Thanks monument I worked hard on it and I’m stoked to hear what you think of his order and selection. Yeah I had like 5 different titles but I went with this because of the overall lyrics and how Attic and Mirrors Truth connect the two albums well. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | I was shocked at how well some of these songs transition to the next. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Also I tried to get rid of all the horrible songs where Anders’ lyrics were just about not caring and being lazy with horrible wording. Tried to focus on a more serious introspective aspect of the lyrical themes of the two albums in a search to find that the lyrics could still be inspired. So I thought the Fading title shouldn’t belong, and turn it more into a theme of struggle, than a theme of burning out. |
MonumentsOfParalysis
03.11.22 | I'll let you know my thoughts on it! Yeah that makes a lot of sense, your album title wraps it all together creatively. |

03.11.22 | Cool idea. I feel like Chosen Pessimist would be a better closer than opener and I really miss Delight and Angers and SOAPF, but still really cool. Been forever since I jammed SOAPF |
Zakusz
03.11.22 | Chosen Pessimist gotta be the closer, that's their best track of the last five records |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Thanks billet. That is funny you say all that because those were what I struggled with most. SOAPF was the last song I removed from this selection and I did it with two hours of consideration. I debated forever about pessimist and alias being the first two songs but I thought about how In Flames has set up their albums before and thought maybe having a slow burn open followed by a bouncy electronic melody could be interesting and set up a build to the more fire songs and build a focus on melody, acoustics, and quality heaviness. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Try it out Zaku and see how you feel about it being a building block for an album and how New Dawn closes things out. 🙂 |
MonumentsOfParalysis
03.11.22 | Ah, so that explains why you didn't include Disconnected or All For Me. I really dig those tracks musically but they're not good lyrically. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Personally I like how it is a slow song and it has qualities that make it a great opener for an album. I was surprised I went this direction with Pessimist but I really enjoy the setup. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Yes sir monument. Was trying to consider all aspects of the music to create a good theme etc etc |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | I wanted Disconnected on here but those lyrics especially that one really bad line made it necessary to remove. |
CottonSalad
03.11.22 | As much as I like Sense of Purpose as is (and having Chosen Pessimist as one of my least favorites on the record), this is cool - gonna jam it later this weekend!
Almost feels like it's gonna give it a modern take on the Jester Race/Moonshield vibe haha |
alamo
03.11.22 | interesting. personally i love asop front to back and skip the soapf tracks with cringe cleans (liberation, ropes, the attic, jester's door) |
Zakusz
03.11.22 | Making the playlist now, Ill let you know what I think |

03.11.22 | Curious to listen to this. I haven't heard either of these albums in years. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.11.22 | Looking forward to hearing thought! |
JDubb
03.12.22 | Will take a listen, but neither of these albums need “fixed†|
Storm In A Teacup
03.12.22 | Lol |
Storm In A Teacup
03.12.22 | Thank you tho JDubb |

03.12.22 | Nice idea, "LPs Operation Storm" ;)
I know nothing of these 2 albums, my In Flames dig, is stopped at the one immediately before. So, yes, it is a nice idea that i will try, for fun. Bookmarked.

03.12.22 | I gave it a solid 2 listens and it was a damn great experience! The flow was spot-on thanks to your thoughtfulness of the track order.
If I were to make one modification it would be to drop Jester's Door completely. Partially it's because I've never enjoyed the track, but from a more objective view it slows down the pace of the "album" right when it feels like its about to take off. A transition from Alias to Fear is the Weakness is smooth enough without the addition of that track. Plus The Attic serves as an experimental respite well enough following Fear. |
Storm In A Teacup
03.13.22 | Heck yeah monument. Thank you for listening and thank you for your appreciation and time. I agree with you about Jester and only included on a thought of not leaving it out but i also did see it wasn't necessary. My playlist will probably remove that one song and for me the rest is an impeccable selection from the two available albums. I feel like i did a good job of ordering the tracks and your comment helps reassure me that others also might see how it fits an entertaining narrative. 😀 |
MonumentsOfParalysis
03.13.22 | Not a problem! I appreciate the work you put into this! This kind of concept is a prime example of why I enjoy frequenting this music community. I've been mulling around doing something similar for condensing double albums like Mastodon's Hushed and Grim and Soilwork's The Living Infinite for a while and you've inspired me to put forward more effort in the creativity. |

03.13.22 | No I'm The Highway? Oh well, nice to see 1 get some love for once |
Storm In A Teacup
03.21.22 | I think maybe I don’t like that song, I can’t even remember what it’s like |

03.21.22 | Cool idea. Will give it a jam at work tomorrow |
Storm In A Teacup
03.21.22 | Nice! Thanks! |
