Top 10 Classical Composers
1Johann Sebastian Bach
The Art of Fugue, BWV 1080

Pretty much indisputable.

Recommended: WTC I & II
2Ludwig van Beethoven
Piano Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53

Forever contemporary.

Recommended: All String Quartets.
3Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K. 491

More so than any other composer who died early (chopin, Schubert, Mendellsohn, etc.) the world was robbed when Mozart died early.

Recommended: Late Symphonies.
4Joseph Haydn
Symphony No. 93 in D Major

Disgusting classical bias, I know.

Recommended: Late Symphonies
5Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina
Missa Papae Marcelli

Classical fans sleep on Palestrina and I have no idea why. He's the summation of renaissance counterpoint in the same way that Bach is for baroque counterpoint.
6Franz Schubert
Piano Sonata in B♭ major, D. 960

A riff powerhouse.

Recommended: Late symphonies
7Hildegard von Bingen
Ordo Virtutum

Opera but better and with less ego.
8Johannes Brahms
4 Klavierstucke op. 119

The only romantic worth talking about

Recommended: Late piano music
9George Frideric Handel
Messiah, HWV 56

Don't see Handel on too many top 10 lists. Beethoven considered him the greatest composer who ever lived.

Recommended: Harmonious Blacksmith.
10Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach
Keyboard Concerto In D Minor Wq. 23

Highly original, probably the first to "color paint", and left in the historical dustbin thanks to Robert "sufferin suckatash" Schumann

Recommended: Cello Concertos.
