Not an MBV guy, but at least it's not "Soon" at number one, so I'll give you credit. 😄
Otherwise, damn good list. Happy to see as much hip-hop and alt-rock here as I do, and while I definitely would have included bands like Nirvana, the Beastie Boys, Green Day, and Stone Temple Pilots, there is a lot of great stuff that helps me not miss these absences in many ways.

@JKing92
I had interstate love song on my prototype list and it almost made the cut. Pass The Mic by Beastie BOys would be a good choice but generally I like 80s Beastie Boys more
34 is possibly 1
i fell so hard off the melvins for reasons of them being insane and having over 100 too many albums but some days i can't stop my head playing With Teeth over and over
Five Magics and Symbolic are indeed among the very best metal songs of the '90s. Nostalgic thinking of them for me cause I used to listen to lots of that kind of music when I was a teenager, and learned those two songs on drums, along with Crystal Mountain and a lot of Megadeth's classic period, and would play them all the time with my friend on guitar in my basement room. Times were simpler then!
mmmm yes this is a good list. Slint is doing the heavy lifting for your posthxc[-adjacent] material - missing some combo of Fugazi/Unwound/Shiner/Drive Like Jehu/Jawbox etc.. could also use a broader range of electronic artists and more diversity in your shoegaze picks, but this is still a very good list hmmyes
Talons plz ask Jom to restore linebreaks to your posts i cannot handle this data dump
Anyway yeah there were a lot of great songs I had to leave out. You can only fit so many in a top 100 after all. I'm surprised how much electronic stuff made it onto here though. I possibly forgot about DJ Sprinkles though
I remember when posting a vertical list comment on this site it would double space, but that doesn't seem to happen anymore when I just tried on the favorite TV shows list, good to know.
nice mix, good list here. you had an error on #1 tho, that spot belongs to Blood & Fire by Type O Negative, easily the best song in the 90's compared to any band/genre by a landslide
