Chambered's Top 5 Games of The 2010's

Finally got around to this after some thought and careful examination. Let me know what you agree with, what you disagree with, and share your list!
1Kentucky Route Zero

Quite possibly the most crucial, relevant, and vital piece of art released the last decade from any medium. Part dystopian nightmare, part surrealistic David Lynch-esque noir, part American cautionary tale. The music, the story, the characters, the set pieces all combine to create the most convincing argument for "video games are art" ever conceived. At its heart it explores a central question that American Life has seemingly been leading up to since we came upon this land as a people: "what do we owe?". Amazing.
2Disco Elysium

Man, what a wild ride. What a critique of how deep our societal systems and personal ideologies have their claws into our identities. If being forward thinking was a match, this is the flame that erupts. Disco is a masterpiece.
3The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

Is it over yet? Can we stop now? Can we move on from the constant, over indulgence and excessive use of open world rpg as a genre? This is the last stop on the trail. Breath is as smooth as gameplay gets, as deep and fulfilling as anything else in the medium. It's like warm butter. You see this game Ubisoft? Enough already. This should be looked back on as a benchmark title in a genre that desperately needed this reimagination of itself.
4The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

I spent the first eight hours doing two side quests and playing around with alchemy. And it was glorious. This is the best game (until September) by the best dev in the industry. That's all you need to know.
5Journey

SO many games were deserving of this spot. Skyrim? Of course. Dark Souls 2? You better believe it. Cuphead? Absolutely. And the list goes on. Eventually I went with something that felt more sentimental to me than anything. Journey is just that, and it's probably the most beautiful game I've ever played in more ways than one.
