11.23.16 | What could possibly have gone so wrong in one's brain chemistry that they legitimately prefer listening to the latest emotionless, objectively talent-less, manufactured 3 minute Electro-pop excuse for a song that they just heard on the radio over something like Isis' 'Panopticon', Agalloch's 'The Mantle' or even something more accessible like Deftones 'White Pony'? I use these 3 as examples because they're all albums that have been disregarded as shit by my mates after i told them to give them a spin. I realize what a pretentious dipshit i must sound like but I honestly feel as though certain people literally don't have the adequate neurological pathways needed to appreciate a lengthy, dynamic, progressive song. I feel sorry for them really. It's as though their mind looses interest in a track if it doesn't feature a repeating catchy melody and runs beyond 3 minutes. |

11.23.16 | all these records are either safely under the electronic label or have dominating electronic elements
Eluvium - False Readings On (Ambient, but not boring)
Kero Kero Bonito - Bonito Generation (Experimental Pop anchored in PC Music-esque production)
Leon Vynehall - Rojus (deep house)
katie dey - Flood Network (psychadelic lo-fi glitchy pop monstrosity, but good)
Matmos - Ultimate Care II (IDM sampled from a washing machine. really cool, nice beats, no joke)
Hikrahe - Lily (The Wilt) (very tasty downtempo)
Bladee - Eversince (icy alt-r&b) |
