2016 Albums I Bought Because of Sputnik

I found this site about mid-way through this year, and it's led to me to some interesting new things. Here are a few albums that came out in 2016 that I basically bought because someone (or some ones) on Sputnik piqued my interest in them.
1Regina Spektor
Remember Us To Life

I'm in the middle of listening to this one now. Don't think it will make my Top 10 list, but I like her voice and her quirky rhythms. I'm finding her a little more clever than emotionally honest (compared to, say, Ingrid Michaelson), but I'll see how I feel after a few more listens.
2The Jezabels
Synthia

I like this one a lot, and it will probably make my Top Ten list. Especially liked "My Love Is My Disease".
3School of Seven Bells
SVIIB

This one is near the bottom of my Top Ten list, but it will probably be bumped off by Tuesday. But I do really like it. I especially like the weird, doubled vocals on numbers like "Open Your Eyes" and "On My Heart".
4Beth Orton
Kidsticks

Won't make my Top Ten, but I did rate it a "3". It's low-key and kind of cool. My favorite song is "Moon".
5Poets of the Fall
Clearview

I bought this one, but unfortunately I'm not going to have time to get to it before the Top Ten lists are due. Thanks go out to Austin, though, whose review of this album interested me enough to go and buy the CD. I'm looking forward to listening to it, even though I won't get to it until after Christmas.
6Night Riots
Love Gloom

In this case, I'm familiar with the band, and I liked their EP from 2015, but I wouldn't have known they put out an LP this year except that I saw it listed on Sputnik. It's another one I won't get to listen to until after the holidays, but I'm looking forward to it.
