Risodo

ScuroFantasma
06.11.17 | What's it about? Only seen Human Centipede from this list, first one is just boring and really nothing special. Second one is completely fucked up though. |
ScuroFantasma
06.11.17 | Heard good things about Holy Mountain, dude from YMS loves it |
Risodo
06.11.17 | @ScuroFantasma Tells the story of some residents in a Ohio City who was stricken by a tornado. The story is pretty uncomfortable, and some times boring, but is really great how the movie show some nihilistic freaks acting like a way of living. |
Risodo
06.11.17 | I have listed some works by Alexandro Jodorowsky, need to check it |
neekafat

06.11.17 | weird =/= transgressive |
zaruyache
06.11.17 | A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night. Not disturbing, but it's a weird dry dark comedy vampire flick from Iran that I really like. That's about as weird as I go. |
Zig
06.11.17 | Pink Flamingos is pretty hilarious.
Although not a weird/transgressive film fan, here's some I know:

That's Park Chan-wook's LEAST weird movie aside from Joint Security Area. I'm a Cyborg But That's OK would be my rec.
Aside from that one:
Science of Sleep
Gozu [2]
The Happiness of the Katakuris
Love Exposure (and basically every other movie by Sono Sion)

dogtooth needs to be here |
EphemeralEternity
06.11.17 | kinda highlights the fact that there aren't many weird movies
discounting most foreign films which are always going to appear a little weird to a western viewer |
Rik VII
06.11.17 | There are a LOT of weird movies. |
butcherboy
06.11.17 | Years ago, I watched Gummo with a girl I had just started dating.. we were both fucked out of our heads on hash and opium oil.. it was a very strange moment.. |
EphemeralEternity
06.11.17 | not relative to all the safe movies out there |
EphemeralEternity
06.11.17 | opium oil? that's a WEIRD choice of psychotropic |
Rik VII
06.11.17 | "not relative to all the safe movies out there"
Well yeah, but still enough to have stuff to watch for a lifetime without ever touching any blockbusters. Japanese cinema alone is really open to fucking weirdness, and no, that's not just cultural differences
"Blue Velvet"
I always thought that was one of the least weird Lynch movies. Like, Inland Empire is the pinnacle of his weirdness. Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway and the Twin Peaks film are also really fucked up in places |
butcherboy
06.11.17 | goes lovely with good chewable hashish.. quick dip in the oil and then sesame seeds on top.. some days, I miss drugs. |
Rik VII
06.11.17 | Just thought of some more

06.12.17 | Under the skin
Antichrist
A Clockwork Orange |
ScuroFantasma
06.12.17 | Clockwork is weird |
EphemeralEternity
06.12.17 | smoked an ungodly amount of hash and watched bubba ho tep and came very very close to dying from laughter. Watched it again sober and it wasn't 1/100 as funny but it's still a absurdly weird premise |
Risodo
06.12.17 | I saw Eraserhead yesterday, Lynch have a really fucked up mind |
ZombieToyDuck
06.12.17 | Uzumaki is weird as fuck but I prefer the manga over the movie |
Risodo
06.12.17 | Until nowadays i don't get it why Japanese people have this fetish with spiral things |
Rik VII
06.12.17 | There's an Uzumaki movie? I'm honestly not even interested to see it but wow, I did not know that. The manga was a different kind of fucked up, but I thought it was pretty amazing. Some of the creepiest stuff I know. |
ZombieToyDuck
06.12.17 | Yeah its not nearly as good as the manga but alright, I really like Ito's manga work gotta delve into more of his stuff I also really liked Gyo |
Rik VII
06.12.17 | Yeah, Gyo is also a neat manga but it lacked the atmosphere of Uzumaki and focusses more on black humour -
which I appreciate, but it never reaches the impact of Uzumaki. The art is still amazing though. I assume you've read the short story at the end of Gyo, too? |
ZombieToyDuck
06.12.17 | Looking into it now read it free online somewhere awhile back I'll have to give it a read. I agree though Uzumaki is a masterpiece of horror manga. His art's pretty fucked up and well done. |
Rik VII
06.12.17 | Alright. Had to look up the name, it's The Enigma of the Amigara Fault, just in case. That one's ... special.. |
ZombieToyDuck
06.12.17 | I'll check it out man, love all his work so I'm sure I won't be dissapointed. |
ZombieToyDuck
06.12.17 | Man that was bone-chilling good thing I'm not claustrophobic...or at least wasn't haha |
Rik VII
06.12.17 | Yes, it still creeps me out thinking about it hahah |
