| The Real Thing (FNM) vs Mother's Milk (RHCP)
I'm bored, so I just wanted to know your preference haha. These really are the only 2 albums that can kind of be compared, as they both have the "hits", the rap-rock style (for some songs), the cliche 80's music videos, and moments of something progressive (Zombie Eaters, Johnny Kick A Hole in the Sky, The Real Thing, Taste the Pain). | 1 | | Red Hot Chili Peppers Mother's Milk
I feel like Flea and John pretty much make this entire album. Sure Chad is a great drummer, but man, it's impossible to not see the musicianship between Flea and John. Hillel was awesome but John amalgamates better with the RHCP. It's cool how both of these bands brought one new member to the table who completely changed its chemistry. | 2 | | Faith No More The Real Thing
Wow. Although Mosley was great at what he did (I am personally a fan of all Faith No More, I don't brown nose any of these singers as they brought something unique to the table), however, there was really no way the band could have pulled this off with Mosley, as his range was rather limited. Patton on the other hand was "acrobatic" and pretty much made the band explore new territory.
I personally love both of these albums whenever I want something fun as well as something challenging to jam out to, because they both have difficult bass lines as well as guitar licks (Underwater Love, Nobody Weird Like Me, etc). | |

07.31.15 | Mother's Milk is my favorite but both albums rule. I think Mother's Milk is a bit underrated around here. | MyNameIsPencil
