the Circle of Salt / Taggarik split was perfect and made me definitely makes me want to check out both projects in full. Apparently both bands feature members from Spectral Wound which makes sense why they rip so hard m/
Axis of Light - Northern Ascendancy. Raw but super melodic black metal at its finest. Who needs a bass guitar anyways. Great stuff
Sivyj Yar - The Unmourned Past. Burial Shrouds was great from what I remember, but this is excellent right up bummerboy's alley
Suhnopfer - Hic regnant borbonii manes. Didn't even need look at their origin when I heard those tremz come in, distinctly french melodic black metal, so per usual totally slays. Need to hear the whole thing when it's released, but those two Bandcamp tracks were enough to wet my whistle
Griefloss - s/t. Most interesting album on this list for me. Very unique use of clean vocals here that really set it apart from other stuff I've heard. It's odd at first, but it really works. Excited to dive deep into this one. |
