08.03.16 | just a list to organize my thoughts and to give myself some motivation to write more reviews (: |
danielcardoso
08.03.16 | reviewing an ep is fun if you're into the short review writing style like me. |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | I like shorterrrr reviews but the shortest ive done is 3 paragraphs. prob gonna do just 2 paragraphs for the EP |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | thanks ALA |
Sinternet
08.03.16 | short reviews are best yea |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | cant see any of these going over 5 paragraphs. 2, 3, and 7 might be the longest ones tho |
ashcrash9
08.03.16 | I still have to hear 2, loved YAOMM. Looking forward to these, man. Good luck! |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | Nice man good luck, always good for the site to review an album that doesn't have a page of words yet |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | ash you would adore 2 Im positive.
and yeah Space what i try to do tbh. helps create discussion and opens people up to cool, undiscovered bands! |
AsleepInTheBack
08.03.16 | Good luck man. Can relate about college being so busy as to prevent frequent reviewing, it sucks |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | college doesnt suck but it drains you time wise yeah.
also 2 has been done for a week-ish now but im revising atm. will post today |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | compared to a 9-5 work week theres a ton of free time in college unless you're packing your schedule with other things |
AsleepInTheBack
08.03.16 | Disagree, I work stupid hours at uni, nearer 9am-9pm, and I wish I was exaggerating haha |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | im working 8-5 errrrrday this summer except weekends and I have so much free time from 5-12 cuz I got nothing to do |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | @asleep 5 times a week and only on school work? not denying it but that seems very intense, what are you majoring in? |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | i do lots of stuff at college tho extra curricular wise plus I always have late classes since sleeping is my favorite |
AsleepInTheBack
08.03.16 | at uni doing law, so most of it is reading which takes hours |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | @con yeah that'll make you're time dissapear, thats what I meant about expanding your schedule with other things.
@asleep hmm I guess my experienced differed I spent about an average of 6-7 hours a day on school related stuff and usually had one week day off where I worked 4 hours but my major didn't require a lot of reading and usually assigned ungraded hw to do at your discretion |
Trebor.
08.03.16 | I would kill myself if I had to work on school stuff for more than an hour a day |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | being an architecture major doesnt help either aha |
AsleepInTheBack
08.03.16 | thats fair enough, we only get 6 hours of lectures a week, the rest of the work is reading and note taking so its easy to get unproductive and work needlessly long hours, so i end up starting working at 9 and finishing between 7 and 10 depending on the day. its not a sensible way to learn but it seems to work for me |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | Trebor. how did you get through school?... |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | I majored in mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace and a minor in mathematics so it was basically you either know it or you don't, not a lot of memorizing, no essays in my core classes just technical reports which are honestly not bad at all and like I said they didnt care if you're doing the hw and usually the grade came from three tests and a few quizes. eng seemed to very sensible as its taught by felllow engineers who have industry experience and just wanna prepare you for work and cut as much bullshit as possible. hell engineering is basically a discipline DESIGNED around optimization and get to your goal quick and easy with no BS. like trebor I'd usually get away with an hour of time outside the lectures unless it was a project which usually are enjoyable |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | architecture is one big project man. which I enjoy but I can't just go into the studio for an hour and call it quits. classes like writing, math, ect I would be able to spend an hour on and be good tho |
Trebor.
08.03.16 | "Trebor. how did you get through school?..."
By being smart and really good at multiple choice/bullshitting essays
Also for my major (film) I put in a shit load of hours but it didn't feel like studying because it's what I would have been doing anyway |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | yeah I feel ya, a lot of my friends were architecture majors. in the studio almost as much as art majors, but with harder classes (no disrespect to art majors, you just cant compare the difficulty in a structural statics course to the difficulty of printmaking) |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | my art major friends always seem more stressed than me tho lol. like in theory art major seems way easier but idk sometimes. |
TheSpaceMan
08.03.16 | Yeah they have to go through crits and are essentially go through a program with no correct answers filled with constant judgement and partial brown nosing. I dated a few art majors, and lived with one. hardest working people I ever met in terms of school. no major is easy when you boil it down, though some are obviously more difficult then others in certain aspects |
Conmaniac
08.03.16 | very true. |
