| Cult of Luna piano covers (again)
It's already ten years since I recorded a full album piano cover of Cult of Luna's endless classic Somewhere Along the Highway. I haven't been that much active in the piano covers field since then, but this year I got to play them live during Czech metal festival Brutal Assault and I recorded the sets to capture some tracks I've never recorded before. So I'm sharing the album here, because the love for the almighty CoL is strong on sputnik and some of you might enjoy it, I hope. The thing can be found here: https://furtherdown.bandcamp.com/album/one-glimpse-of-an-eye, the list is all the awesome tracks I tried to capture with my two hands. | 1 | | Cult of Luna Salvation
Leave Me Here
Crossing Over (my favorite to play actually, such a strong tune) | 2 | | Cult of Luna Somewhere Along the Highway
Finland
Dim
Dark City, Dead Man
(it's weird playing these songs for over 10 years now, but holy shit, these pieces are timeless) | 3 | | Cult of Luna and Julie Christmas Mariner
Cygnus (slightly shortened) | 4 | | Cult of Luna A Dawn to Fear
Lights on the Hill
Inland Rain | 5 | | Cult of Luna The Long Road North
An Offering to the Wild (the newest one I played, had quite a hard time with some of these riffs) | 6 | | The Cure Pornography
Figurehead (played as a short interlude) | 7 | | Bjork Homogenic
Jóga (short interlude also) | 8 | | Dreare Foregone
While you're at it, check out this year's drone/post-metal record I contributed to with some analogue synth soundscapes, background noises and tape loops, if you like introvert and excessively long instrumental tracks. And sorry for this shameless self promotion. Cheers!

09.01.23 | Checked the Figurehead cover cause that's one of my favourite songs, really cool! | FurtherDown
09.04.23 | Thanks! I din't prepare it much carefully but I though it would be a funny idea to play these two non-metal tracks as interludes, considering it was a big metal festival (even though Pornography is one of the heaviest albums ever, of course). | PitchforkArms

this is outstanding... | PitchforkArms
09.05.23 | wtf... dude.. I'm nearly finished with These Tracks Must End and I'm in absolute awe. Your performance is exceptional. Such visceral, dynamic and impassioned playing. Huge props, and many thanks. | FurtherDown
09.05.23 | Thank you deeply. The songs are just too good to play, Dim especially. |
