08.07.22 | Good list. You should check a little known band named Tool. |
Avagantamos
08.07.22 | if you listen to exai by autechre you will be able to solve any calculus problem with ease |

08.07.22 | Tool? who? |

08.07.22 | Try Limp Bizkits first 3 albums!
But nah seriously I'd say this stuff tends to be pretty stimulating for me at least
Scale the Summit- The Migration/Carving Desert Canyons
Irepress- Sol Eye Sea I
Krallice- Krallice
Agalloch- Ashes Against the Grain
Augury- Fragmentary Evidence
Timeghoul- Discography
Tangerine Dream- Phaedra
Portishead- Portishead
mum- Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Is OK
Rodrigo y Gabriela- 11:11
Diskord- Degenerations
Serocs- The Phobos / Deimos Suite
Serpent Column- Mirror In Darkness
We all tick different and whatnot so some may work that way for you and some may not. I will say the last 3 are pretty abrasive which might be a little distracting at times. |

08.07.22 | "interested if anyone has an album that genuinely helps with demanding study or work;"
Cognitive pick up or stimulation, I see... but it's interesting that you deem this stuff helpful with "demanding study or work", because it's anything but passive... the opposite of how the YouTube lo-fi stuff, for example, works. |

08.07.22 | ... |
YoYoMancuso
08.07.22 | michael jackson - thriller |

08.07.22 | Combustion these look great, Augury, Timeghoul, Agalloch are top notch. Isis i see what you are saying, for some things music detracts but for other things i find it can help (counterintuitively). |
Hyperion1001
08.07.22 | check artery eruption |
Heppasodge
08.07.22 | that was lovely hyperion thank you |

08.07.22 | Lol fuck yeah on the Artery Eruption. Them and them alone is how I worked hard to become a well known doctor |
goblinilbog
08.07.22 | I binged Autechre's discography my last semester of college, it definitely helped me read/work for longer periods of time uninterrupted. |
AnimalsAsSummit
08.07.22 | Audio - To The Edge of Reason |
normaloctagon
08.07.22 | "if you listen to exai by autechre you will be able to solve any calculus problem with ease" good comment |
Shemson
08.07.22 | This is the last kind of music that would help me with learning or writing, I would start counting meshuggah time signatures instead of what I was supposed to be doing.
Based off the list though Between The Buried and Me are probably a good shout though what I would listen to would be Agnes Obel, Casualties of Cool, Opeth’s Damnation - they were all my favourites when I studied |
Drifter
08.07.22 | Warren G - Regulate... G Funk Era
Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - The Art Of War
some hip hop albums i often throw on when doing schoolwork. great stuff but also easy to have in the background
edit: think i actually just rec'd for the opposite of what you want lol |
Asdfp277
08.07.22 | chew on bubblegum
or just accept that you're a human with limits. if the limits are too unreasonably low, consult a doctor, there might be a condition causing it, like adhd or thyroid issues, but honestly it's really easy to think you're defective when you're perfectly fine so idk |
sonictheplumber
08.07.22 | surprised to see snarky puppy here theyre really only on peoples radar in the jam band world. saw them once and it was alright but a bit directionless |
sonictheplumber
08.07.22 | but yeah as far as studying and shit (something i havent had to do in nearly 6 years lol) i always liked ambient and jazz but nothing too busy or crazy. ive always been envious of people who could study and get shit done while listening to death metal and stuff |
FR33L0RD
08.07.22 | Deep immersion into the legend works of the grandmasters of Baroque-Classical-Romantic Era do also the trick; Bach/Mozart/Beethoven/Schumann/Brahms/Shubert/Mendelssohn/Rachmaninoff/
Al Di Meola/Mahavishnu, jazz fusion early works from these two, will exactly also stimulate what you are searching for. |
Heppasodge
08.08.22 | Between the bs comments some interesting stuff here- Autechre has cropped up a bit and chewing gum works for sure. keen to look at the other stuff too espec jazz/classical. Yeah sonic snarky puppy are a weird addition but more or less my foray into jazz/jam stuff really. Metal does help with studying for me usually for stuff like writing papers etc |
Dedes
08.08.22 | Idk if workout jams are applicable to this but maybe if you jammed more Bolt Thrower your brain too will make massive gains |
Heppasodge
08.08.22 | bahaha. I saw Bolt Thrower translated on a merch website recently as THROWER OF THE BOLT |
kevbogz
08.08.22 | im exact opposite for studying - need ambient no movement kinda tunes |
kevbogz
08.08.22 | similar to 1 tho: the flashbulb, wisp, and edIT’s first album |
bgillesp
08.08.22 | Lol you say it was BS but I’ve genuinely studied for many hours straight to that loop. Don’t knock it till you try it |
Heppasodge
08.08.22 | Ok bro |
SomeCallMeTim
08.08.22 | Boards of Canada, pretty much anything they've done is good for getting down and concentrating |
