So I'm finally at the milestone that indicates that I've spent far too long on this website but hey, better this than any mmo. I don't even have a good idea for this list as I've done the typical 10k list things already but my listening year has been a little slack due to academic commitments, so throw some recs my way to get me back into the rhythm of things. However, if you're going to post like 10 alt-rock recs, just don't post at all. Well anyway, list are albums of 2015 that I've managed to give a shit about
1Death Grips
The Powers That B - Part II: Jenny Death

Just about edges it for AOTY so far as it has only gotten better with more listens. If it is the end for them, at least they finished off with a killer album. Fave track: The Powers That B
2Kendrick Lamar
To Pimp a Butterfly

Everything has been said about this album already but wow, what a huge surprise it was. I didn't think he would have been able to top gkmc, let alone out do it completely and it was a pleasant surprise. I think I've annoyed a fair few friends by trying to convince them that this is as good as it is as well as listen to it but unfortunately, they're the type of people who will only listen to King Kunta as it's the single and not even pay attention to its message or any other song for that matter. Shame because King Kunta is the only lowlight of this anyway. Fave track: Wesley's Theory/Blacker The Berry
3Steven Wilson
Hand. Cannot. Erase.

Thought Raven was average but this was also a pleasant surprise. I don't know what it is but the really nostalgic atmosphere of the first half of the album is something really special and the end of Three years Older feels like you're watching a montage of life roll by. Progress, at last. Fave track: Three Years Older
4Godspeed You! Black Emperor
'Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress'

Fantastic throughout, even the droney bits; I don't get what people are fussing about. Fave track: Piss Crowns
5Olafur Arnalds and Alice Sara Ott
The Chopin Project

Really passed by a lot of people. Really gorgeous and relaxing album that I'm sure any classical fan would enjoy. Fave track: Verses
6Arca
Sheep

It's good. Nothing else to say, really.
7Lapalux
Lustmore

I'll admit, I was a little disappointed in this upon first listen but wow, was it salvaged by the last 4 tracks. Aside from Make Money, each are stunningly beautiful in their own unique ways, especially Funny Games which is so unexpected and euphoric that it's difficult to put into words. Just some consistency would be nice. Fave track: Don't Mean a thing/Funny games
8Galar
De Gjenlevende

I wish I liked this more but the cleans are so bad that it ruins the entire thing for me, aside from the last track which is brilliant.
9Tigran Hamasyan
Mockroot

Haven't quite pinned down my thoughts of this yet but I like it nonetheless, i just don't know how much.
