09.13.14 | Nice list hil, & welcome back! As far as rappers go, I don't really have a fav. There's still a lot of stuff I need to hear. But if I had to choose so far, it'd probably be Aesop Rock. Dude is mad lyrical. |
Phlegm
09.13.14 | hmmm i really need to check out some MF Grimm! Interesting list Hil, any specific reason towards why The Game makes it so high up in your list?
I don't really delve into lyricism, preferring to focus on the atmosphere that rappers create; therefore my favorite rappers tend to be those embodied in the southern old school sound. this can range from Memphis hardcore to the more drugged out attributes of chopped and screwed.
favorites would probably consist of tommy wright iii, lil ugly mane, spaceghostpurrp, lord infamous, etc.
OH since you're really big on lyricism, you should check out Illogic's album Celestial Clockwork, when i was first latching onto hip hop he like BENT my mind with some of the stuff he spits. very intricate :~) enjoyo! |

09.13.14 | I haven't been able to check much hip-hop lately, but atm they would be
Masta Ace
One Be Lo
Sage Francis
DMX
Brother Ali |
Guzzo10
09.13.14 | Never really understood your love for The Game, but other surprises are DMX, Ludacris and Eminem being pretty low on the list considering the esteem I thought you held him in.
DMX's early shit was really good, and blunt. Ludacris actually used his talent and made decent music, not club bangerz, when he first hit the scene so its nice to see him.
Good list, nice to see you back on sputz |

09.15.14 | "any specific reason towards why The Game makes it so high up in your list?" probably has something to do with being from LA, but I don't understand whats not to like about The Game, hes made hundreds of great tracks, his verses are always on point his only problem is his hooks sometimes |
LambsBread
09.15.14 | you should check out American Hunger, Phlegm, the first CD is a little slow but eventually it amounts to like 2 and a half hours of unique classic shit
Eminems good but too much of his discography are these immature, but well written, stories about killing his mom/girlfriend. I'm not offended or anything it just seems pointless and kinda childish. My favorite tracks of his are songs like 8 Mile where he just tells the story of his average life and makes it interesting without making ridiculous stuff up.
I think all of DMX's shit is awesome. |

09.15.14 | I am The Game arch-nemesis, "The Practice"
This ain't the game bitch
It's the practice
The Game's face is all fucked up
cuz he took too many crack hits
bitches love the game
but the game loves faggots
make ya bleed like a hoe thats on the rag, it's
little maggots, rich boys with tennis rackets
y'all wear rainbows
while I wear straight jackets
under the influence
and under attack bitch
A.I. had it right it aint the game
It's the practice. |

05.06.15 | Only heard a couple of Game songs. I like them, but I've always been indifferent about him. |
LambsBread
05.08.15 | yeah people sleep on him hard, especially people who weren't really into hip hop during his high moment in 2006ish, check out Doctors Advocate... best west coast album since 2000 |
LambsBread
05.08.15 | hes honestly got probably 400 great tracks, everything he touched in early 2000s was gold |
RadicalEd
05.08.15 | Honestly, Black thought needs to be higher. He's a magician. |

05.08.15 | Finally got around to listening to some KRS-One. Listened to his first two albums; both fucking brilliant. Wish I had explored more when I was younger. I'm just now getting around to listening to the pioneers I've always heard about and respected, but never really listened to. |
BeyondCosby
05.08.15 | Del's legit as hell man. I've also really been digging Killer Mike and El-P in Run the Jewels. I don't know how you feel about that collaboration but I think it's pretty dank. |
Funeralopolis

LambsBread
05.08.15 | i dont like run the jewels, i did like rap music though
you should check out Boogie Down Productions Cody (KRS-One's first stage name), if you listened to Return of the Boom Bap, and KRS-One, that was actually his 6th and 7th albums
By All Means Necessary, Edutainment and Sex and Violence are some of my favorite albums of all time |
