Metallica Hardwired... To Self-Destruct Ranked
I am ranking the new Metallica album Hardwired.... To Self-Destruct. This ranking is just my opinion, other people will have their own ranking. One thing I love about this album is how certain songs sound like they could've been on different albums throughout their career. Can't wait to see these guys on their upcoming tour!! Album is a 4/5 |

Am I Savage? - I understand that they are paying homage to Diamond Head with this song, but did they have to be so damn obvious with the title? There are some great riffs on this one, but it's a pretty forgettable filler compared to the rest of the album.

Murder One - Being the big Motorhead fan I am, this was the one song I was looking forward to the most leading up to this albums release. This song is dedicated to Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister who passed away at the end of 2015. The first couple seconds sound like the band are going to break into Fade to Black. The lyrics in this song are the weakest on the album, which is unfortunate because Lemmy was a fantastic lyricist. They dropped the ball on this one.

10 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Here Comes Revenge - This song drags on way longer than it needed to, however it does have a pretty cool riff starting at the 45 second mark. The music video for this song has to be the worst video for this album.

Confusion - The intro to this song sounds awfully similar to the intro to Am I Evil? This is just a good straightforward rocker.

8 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Now That We're Dead - This is just another good straightforward rocker with a somewhat catchy chorus.
3.5/5 |
7 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Dream No More - In this song we get the return of Cthulhu. I kind of get a grungy feel to this song. Sounds like something that could've been off of Load.

ManUNkind - I've heard a lot of people saying that this song is their least favourite from the new album. I love that it has a big Mercyful Fate vibe to it. The bass intro Rob does in tribute to Cliff is pretty awesome. The black metal music video is pretty cool as well.

Halo on Fire - This is the longest song on the album. It has a great melodic intro and is reminiscent of The Unforgiven. James' vocals are great in this epic.

4 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Hardwired - The opening track to this album is also the first single we got to hear. At first listen you can hear that this is Metallica returning to their roots. The only reason why this song is not perfect is because of the cheesy "Were so ****ed" lyric. Great song otherwise though.
4.5/5 |
3 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Atlas, Rise - Another really great melodic song. You can hear the Iron Maiden influences in the riff during the chorus.
4.5/5 |
2 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Moth Into Flame - When I first heard this song I thought it was the best song they had done in a LONG time - that was until I heard this album's closing track. It has a phenomenal chorus that will get stuck in your head the second you hear it.

1 | | Metallica Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
Spit Out The Bone - Without a doubt the best song on Hardwired... To Self-Destruct. Now this is the best song they have written in the last 25 years! To anyone who said that Metallica didn't have it in them to write another thrash classic at this point in their career, think again. This sounds like something that could be off of Kill 'Em All. This is sure to be a live favourite on the upcoming world tour.
