First Quarter Of 2014.

Yes, the time of another pointless 2014 list has finally arrived. Don't blame me, i've really rrrenjoyed this year in general, and I wanted to let some of you know about #1.
10 Emmure
Eternal Enemies

Well, this was one of the most creative, balls to the wall release i've heard not only
in 2014, but in quite sometime. Frankie Palmieri ,also known as "Diagonal Ass
Nigga" really ran the extra mile with this one. Not really, I know that this joke is
starting to get old but at least it serves the purpose of warning other users from
not hearing this clunky shit.
9La Dispute
Rooms of the House

Really liked the narrative on this one, and the sort of "coming of age" that this
band had.
8Behemoth
The Satanist

I have to admit it for once, this album is a bit overrated, but it's also a highly
entertaining and well recorded Black Metal album.
7The War on Drugs
Lost in the Dream

What an amazing album this turned up to be. With a lot of depth within it's sonical
boundaries, I can only compliment this album by saying that this was probably the
most i've enjoyed listening to an album from start to finish this year.
6Thee Silver Mount Zion
Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light on Everything

A really intense release from this guys, I digged this one quite a lot, and i've been
hearing it consistently since it was released.
5Real Estate
Atlas

A really simple, relaxing (albeit a little cliched at times) and thoroughly enjoyable
little record.
4Manchester Orchestra
Cope

An album that has been pretty divisive among users here, some love the more
simplistic-straight to the point songwriting presented on the record, others say it's
pretty lazy and boring, etc etc. I think it's an amazing album with lots of qualities
that I dig in music. It kinda reminds me of Brand New's Daisy (I made a review for
that one btw), a raw, unapologetic effort. Standout tracks include Girl Harbor, Top
Notch, The Ocean, Every Stone, Cope and Never Really Been Another Way Out.
3The Hotelier
Home, Like NoPlace Is There

Another AOTY (So far) contender right here, an emotional rollercoaster, greatly
structured and raw effort from this excellent band.
2Chevelle
La Gargola

Overrated? Probably yes, but also a blast to hear, a really consistent effort from
beginning to end.
1Vetusta Morla
La Deriva

Well, this has been my AOTY so far, and I even had to add it to the Sputnik
database because no one here knows this amazing alternative rock band from Spain. I highly recommend this
record, and i'll never get tired of saying that you should fucking hear this band and
their previous efforts. I catched one of their shows a month back, and it was fucking amazing. They were the opening act, and
they were miles better than the main act, so yeah, I love this band.
